Would be an odd game to slip up on, if it was at St James' Park then maybe.

I think Milner's value to the club extend beyond his qualities as a squad player.

As for Fab and Bobby, what's the betting they're on the bench and it's level before they come on in the second half.

James Pearce : "Liverpool need James Milner to stick around beyond this season. Initial talks have taken place over a potential extension."

Good news. He's indeed a very important piece in Klopp's team, best squad player for rotation.
Amazed it's taken this long to start talks on a contract.

Makes me wonder if we were hoping to sign a midfielder this summer (or next) and Milner was going to make way?

It will be Lallana that is off for me - I heard we were trying this summer but had no takers

I think Millie they will want to keep around the squad for his experience, He is a brilliant member of the squad.

Definitely this. A role model on how train, work hard and putting in the hours. A thorough professional.

No doubt Lallana will leave on a free at the end of the season.

We're nearly always lacklustre after an international break. 2-1 to us and we'll be lucky to win again.
I'll take that smile

Fabinho and Firmino playing right now in a FRIENDLY in Los Bloody Angeles. Why? They'll return presumably on Friday - how on earth would they be expected to start a 12.30 game on Saturday?
what a waste of time, they really should acquire some United injuries for long distance friendlies and come back miraculously fit

Vincent Kompany has named Van Dijk as his choice for the best CB in Premier League history.

If he can replicate last seasons form over the next 3-4 years I would agree.

I see our throw in coach was kept on - a number of clubs were inquiring about using him

Pretty generous seeing as VVD has been the best for last 2 years, and Kompany was best for 4 years

A bit much to call VVD best in Prem ever at this stage... you’d have to call out (much it pains me to say it) Ferdinand and Terry as they both performed at a super high level over many years.

Aguero is about to start in Kompany's Testimonial...

Milner is on the bench.

Quite. Pretty premature really. I can't see Van Dijk spending as long in the Prem as either of those either - he'll be off for pastures new in a few years unless we happen to end up best in the world for the next 10 years (not that I'm suggesting that's likely). Prime example of a career footballer.
