To be fair, he is quite a down to earth guy, especially given his age. He has been in the spolight since he was 18, had money literally thrown at him since and seems to have kept a level head and played excellent football. He is superstar and I don't think he is even being arrogant by calling himself that.
Indeed not, ultimately he is one. Looks like he’ll be off to Real in the summer, reading between the usual lines. I don’t want us spending that kind of money on players anyway...van Dijk’s fee was daft (but worth it) enough for my taste.m3sye said:

These cranks pay less for a game v Liverpool than we do for a game v Norwich to...
Matter of time till those owners give up on them and they end up in the lower leagues again
Plenty of diehards too, not all nutters there. Used to work with a City season ticket holder when they were in Div 1/2 then and went along just for the craic if he had a spare ticket, to away games in or near London. Good set of fans, very passionate about their club. I suspect some are now peed off with new glory hunters and the inevitable focus on attracting new support. Guessing the away support is still what the lifers enjoy more. Some Read this

Indeed and poss right it's maybe the new influx of fans that are the voice behind st like this. Sounds like a lot of then are complaining about the disconnect between the owners and fans and that the club has become quite soulless, which I think is a little inevitable given how their owners have thrown money around and bought success is such a relatively short space of time.
Got to give credit to FSG once again for keeping the supporters so close to the club.

You mean that a club, bought as a PR and marketing exercise by a country with an appalling human rights record, that circumvents all the spending rules by routing money through numerous linked companies, together with a bunch of players who turned up just for the cash and a manager who has bought success, not coached the club to it, is soulless?Got to give credit to FSG once again for keeping the supporters so close to the club.
Shock.

That wasn't true to start with - remember the outrage at the ticket prices being hiked before FSG restructured the pricing. I think they've possibly learned a lot. The Dubai lot perhaps don't give a chuff... However, the Dubai lot are investing a lot in their academy/training facilities and community stuff, I am told - not just on the players on the pitch. I think your example only highlights how close the supporters are to the club.I think at the time FSG were just following the trend and trying to make up the gap in revenue to the top clubs. The fact that they listened to the fans and went back on their price rises and froze the costs shows how much they are willing to listen.

Which is what I said...they learned from their early mistakes.I think at the time FSG were just following the trend and trying to make up the gap in revenue to the top clubs. The behind the scenes vid from the match. With THE best camera angle for Mo’s goal...calling for it as soon as Allison had the ball in his hands. Superb.
United charged.

Even if I was a neutral, I'd agree with that decision.

It was a bad episode all round; there was nothing wrong with the goal and the reaction was ridiculous. Do they not know every goal is subject to the fools at Stockley Park - just wait and kick off once the decision is ratified.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51189309
