Simeone outfoxed Liverpool, it’s that simple. I am positive at Anfield they will go through but tbh it was naive to think that Atletico would roll over. All credit to them, nobody in the premier league has managed what they have.
Outfoxed? They got a lucky goal and defended well for the rest of the game.
And who thought they would roll over? They are a very good experienced side who know all the desk arts of managing a game. No one I know expected an easy game. I wound have been delighted with a draw before the game

Interesting article (if you haven't seen it) from last October about Rodgers and what was going on behind the scenes with FSG back in his time. He comes across as someone you wouldn't trust to tell you the time, to be honest.

Anyone got the official attendance figure for the City game last night...?
I met a player last night who can see himself playing in the Premier League next season. Werner have been carefully speaking about a move abroad in the past....not so last night.
Klopp’s pulling power of players should never be underestimated

I still think Rodgers is a good manager but Klopp is a great one and that's what you want at the top of the tree.

I think it's apparent from that article how both FSG and Rodgers have developed since then.

Rodgers is a good manager - but quite how he thought he would ever keep his job by lying to the press about his opinions and putting the blame on his employers does rather defeat me...I still think Rodgers is a good manager but Klopp is a great one and that's what you want at the top of the tree.

I really like what he is doing with Leicester but I was happy to see the back of him at Liverpool. I will never forget how gutted I felt when we managed to qualify for the Champions league again...and he either didn't have a clue/or wasn't interested about playing in Europe. I guess that he was just too inexperienced at that time though. Chris Stott said:
The Liverpool job was too much too soon for him.
He needed to do something like the Celtic job before going to a top Prem side... learning How to play in Europe, for example.
If the stuff in that article are true than those aren't the foundations of someone that would ever make it as a Liverpool manager. We will always be able to get managers with good coaching abilities, so there's no need to touch that sort of bullst. He needed to do something like the Celtic job before going to a top Prem side... learning How to play in Europe, for example.
I thought he was good at the time, until things fell apart after we nearly won the league, but that throws a new light on things for me.

His lack of self awareness relating to his own inexperience and failings also needed ironing out. Hopefully he's a bit more humble and grounded these days.He needed to do something like the Celtic job before going to a top Prem side... learning How to play in Europe, for example.
It was a huge relief when he left. Imagine, him wanting to ship out Henderson and part ex him to get Clint Dempsey in... Hendo back then wasn't a bad player by any stretch.

But, ultimately, he was right about Balotelli and Sturridge.
He was full of BS though.
