Agree that VVD was at fault for that one. Gomez just reads the game better and would have been better positioned (and faster) to get back and maybe catch the attacker.

All ifs buts and maybes but i stand by my original statement - Lovren scares the crap out of me.

Just a thought on Lovren. Gomez got back into the team and was gradually less awful over several games - far more "off the pace" in his first game back than Lovren has been. Didn't cost us because the team was playing well. Lovren hasn't played in God knows how long, makes a mistake and gets crucified for it "because its Lovren".

Some players are just untouchable; some are scapegoats.
