Discussion
Classic Hodgson Palace performance in recent seasons.
Sit deep, go behind, stay compact and sucker punch on the break.
Everton only have themselves to blame for missing out on Europe next season.
Richarlson is a frustrating player, on his day he’s arguably top class, but he’s still too inconsistent
Doubt Barcelona will be back with another £100 million offer

I was busy so only caught the last 10 minutes of the game, so I'm to blame for the goal....
Lots of talk of us chucking some decent cash at the squad in the summer. Sadly I think we need to, we need a few first team players and some added depth to the squad. Most of the dead wood must be gone by now surely?

You had plenty of chances to win that, sadly only yourselves to blame. I think you'll need to win 8 (or win 7 and draw 2) out of 9 of the remaining games in order to achieve top 4, not gonna happen is it?
Saying that, they've ditched FFP for 12 months haven't they, so you'll probably be able to freely spend in signing on fees and transfer fees, but give out lower wages to compensate for it for the long term.
I really think you should just sell Pickford and get a world class keeper, been saying it for years! Think you should look at another striker as well, but not sure if anyone will come to sit on the bench if you haven't got European football? Ivan Toney would be a shout if Brentford fail to come up. Buendia at Norwich is a handy player that can play multiple positions, again though, Norwich may come up.

Love him as a player, but yeah he's either class or ste, doesn't seem to be any inbetween. Did Barca really bid 100 mill?! I must have missed that.Sit deep, go behind, stay compact and sucker punch on the break.

Haven't you already spent loads in terms of wages etc. I remember your turnover to wages was about the only team in the league that was higher than us, ours was like 81% but yours was over 100%!Lots of talk of us chucking some decent cash at the squad in the summer. Yes, Barcelona offered a deal eventually worth £100 million last Jan near deadline day but the nature of the offer suggested they where simply testing the waters and unsettling the player with a view to go back in again in the summer window.
Then Covid hit and the rest is history.
Guillem Balague talked about it recently.
Agree about Pickford, he’s had his chance and plenty of time.
Everton have never had a credible alternative to give him competition.
In terms of summer spend, don’t expect anything.
Why?
FFP won’t mean a lot for Everton as they are unlikely to get into Europe next season.
But premier league profitability and Sustainability regulations do mean a lot.
Everton are likely to be over the maximum permitted losses, so unless they can sell players to reduce the losses, then they won’t be spending much at all.
Not to mention a stadium to pay for.
And who can they get decent money for in the current window?
Digne
Richarlson
Calvert Lewin
Godfrey
Holgate
Rodriguez
Keane
Kean (based on PSG form)
Allan
Doucoure
The problem is, the players that would generate decent interest and transfer fees are all crucial to team and guaranteed starters.
The high waged average players are hard to shift and have little value in a sellers market especially as Everton are over paying them -
Bernard
Sigurddson
Iwobi
Pickford
Mina
Gomez
Delph
Gbamin
Kenny
Tosun
Baningime
The following contracts are up this summer which will help the wage bill
Besic,
Pennington,
King,
Walcott (Everton are paying half his wages)
Bolasie (same as Walcott, paying half his wages)
Olsen loan deal ends and there is no mandatory buy clause
Still a lot to do to sort out the transfer mess left by Walsh, Koeman, Silva and Allardyce

We need a RB to take over from Coleman, a replacement for Iwobi (who would then be a squad player) and back up for DCL as a must for the summer, I'd also like us to either buy Olsen or to bring in another keeper to replace/push Pickford.I think Bernard will be off in the summer along with Kenny and a few contracts expiring. Like it's been said, we've been over paying player wages for a while and it's been killing the wage bill.
Everyone says Richarlison is a good player and give the man a football and tell him to do stuff and I have no doubt that he's great but as a member of a football team is he really that good yet? He's only 23 so he has plenty of time to improve but I am still to be convinced that he is anyone to build around for the long term. If there was a decent offer I'd sell and bring in proven Premiership quality - Zaha.
