thought it was a good solid performance , and we looked fitter .
I don’t know what to make of the restart, but in one way it’s good to have sport returning, albeit a bit odd. As for the game, I see an Everton team who at last have respect for and listen to their manager, haven’t had that feeling since Martinez first term. Looks like Schneiderlin is off to France soon. Not much money in for him, but it's £120k a week off the wage bill. I think we need to be brutal like that, otherwise we're just going to continue playing a percentage of their wages whilst they're on loan until they go on a free. Just take whatever you can for some of the deadwood and clear the wage bill down.
Niasse and Martina are out of contract next week as well, that'll save a few quid as well

I don’t think anyone listens to him on the RS forum so he comes on here, trouble is we take no notice of him either
Who are you talking about Hilly? Hope you're safe up there in Staffs, this restart is all very strange but it's nice to be able to discuss the game again.Blue62 said:

I'll be honest I haven't missed football, but it's nice to have it back. I thought we looked fit which is good to see, hopefully we can have a decent game against Norwich and young Gordon will get another start. I'd definitely start with Bernard instead of Iwobi though
I thought Iwobi had a solid game and did his job but he doesn't seem to be able to shine ,but he was playing the best team in the world 🤭, you would think Bernard could do damage against Norwich though, time to step up I say Tactics spot on against the RS and a shame Davies didn't score that last minute opportunity. We are still the only team not to be beaten at home this season.
The biggest positive from the game was it seems that we now have a team that is listening to the manager. They executed his orders and took 2 points off them. Gordon getting a PL start was a gamble that paid off I just hope the Everton da's don't turn on him as they did Davies.
At the end of the day I'm just pleased we didn't get murdered like we did at Anifield in Decemeber. So much has happened since that day! We started the season with Silva as our manager and that feels like a lifetime ago.
Onwards to Norwich... Bottom of the table and off the back of a decent result against the champions elect so we're bound to get tonked 2-0!

£1.8m in the bank and most importantly, £100+ a week off the wage bill. Steklenberg is off so another £25k a week saved, Martini is another £50k a week saved and Niasse around the same. So nigh on £1m a month saved on wages come the end of this month.
I'm hoping someone will take Bolasie, Besic and Tosun in the summer as well, I'd just get rid for whatever amount we can get for them. All 3 are out of contract next summer, so we're probably paying towards their wages whilst they're on loan elsewhere.
Coutinho on loan would be interesting even if he did play the other side of the park. We need someone that can provide the balls to Richie and DCL
