Where has all this talk of Hallaand being a £150m player come from? I've watched him a few times for both Dortmund and Norway and sorry but I don't see a £150m. Sure he has a lot of potential but to me he is still a largely unproven player. His team are currently 5th in a two team league and he hasn't exactly been on fire for Norway.

Let him come to the PL and stick 25-30 goals away for a couple of seasons, then we can start talking about £150m valuations.
How old is he?

He's 2 goals from joining the 50 greatest Champions League goalscorers. He's played 14 matches.

I think the hype is justified.

The son incident was a catalogue of errors. Ridiculous to go down like that, ridiculous of utd player to raise his hand in the first place, ridiculous of the ref to look at it and decide to rule out the goal and ridiculous that once he decided it was a foul to then not book and send off the player. Ridiculous to single out son when rashford did the exact same thing (and the utd team has Fernandez in it) and of course ridiculous to subject son to the racial abuse as a result.

That's quite a few of your established first team players that need to be replaced over the next few seasons.
We had the same problem under Poch, in our last season at WHL. Liverpool have the same problem too, particularly with the front three. There's no obvious succession plan. Fittster will be along shortly to bang the "director of football" drum. smile
We do have the same problem - though it's been handy that Diogo has come in and performed.

The question over whether the new replacements will be any good, that some others have raised, is a completely separate conversation though. Those players need replacing within a certain timeframe regardless. As you say, that takes money, and given the COVID caused problems with finances, Kane is the obvious sacrifice and I'm sure Levy is well aware of that.

It could have been worse, once the ref decided that it was a foul by the united player, surely he had to decide it was also a foul by Son. Two fouls don't cancel each other out, United can't benefit from their player's foul and the Son foul was first. So the correct approach was to rule out the goal and give United a free kick for the first foul, give Son a yellow card for the dive and the United chap a yellow for his foul too.

LOL.

Without VAR the ref would have just pretended to play advantage from the Son foul, pretended not to see the second foul and let the goal stand.

Although I'm as critical of VAR as anyone and would happily see it gone, in this case I think the issue was that without VAR the Ref wouldn't have played to the rules rather than VAR simply getting it wrong.

How do you replace Kane without spending all the Kane money on his replacement?

And ridiculous for OGS to be so outraged when he has Martial in his team...

You don't. You find the next Kane and spend a quarter of the Kane money.

Interesting spat Jose v Ole and feeding children hehe
Hardly a spat. OGS was right and just answered a question we all asked. Son embarrassed himself and looked stupid. 3mins on the floor for brushing his cheek with the hand. Your manager had to defend him of course but everyone saw what happened.
I am not a Spurs fan, and I agreed with everything OGS said, Jose turned into a spat by biting back and questioning OGSs parenting skills in what was obviously I slightly tongue in cheek comment

And here we all are discussing Jose and not that his team conceded 3 (should have been 4) to a team that's been struggling to create and score recently

Or that they may not only miss out on CL but Europa as well and are dangerously close to Arsenal going above them

At this point, it’s inevitable. Only the cup final to get hammered in, to complete the failure this season.

Yep, he is now an average manager but a top class deflector.

Rather like Spurs fans and Son, but but but.... Rashford does it, Martial does it, Salah (not even playing) does it hehe

Son was a new level of pathetic but it worked so it will just encourage players (of all teams) to carry on unfortunately

Its not even a new phenomenon

The difference is sometime previously the ref got conned and sometimes he didn't

Now we have a 3 minute wait for the same outcome

I would like to see the introduction of yellows for simulation even if there was slight contact, trouble is VAR has proven officials now the laws of the game but very little about how the game is played
