I think that the bottom clubs can't attract the really good players do they end up buying a lot of not quite good enough players but still with paying a Prem premium.
I think that Leicester just sell very well. Kante, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Chillwell etc. None have really justified their prices yet.

Hmm
Kante was best DM in the league for a number of years
Chilwell looks very good
Mahrez would walk into first 11 of most teams except City and he plays there a lot, I’d love him at Liverpool
You missed 85m for Maguire though
We sell when we know players are at their premium and we usually replace very well, 12 months beforehand.Kante was best DM in the league for a number of years

Kante is class, was eventually replaced by Ndidi who's probably just as good as Kante was and he's much younger. Chilwell was overated, we needed funds in order to strengthen other positions. Mahrez we kept hold of for 12 months longer than we should have, he was an ungrateful bd who disrespected us towards the end. Maguire is a United fan and he is good but nothing special, 85m for him was unreal.
All of the players above wanted to go, Kante was a release clause, Chilwell wanted to go a few months beforehand, Mahrez wanted to go for 18 months before he actually went and Maguire was never gonna turn down United. All went to bigger clubs and at least doubled their wages, trebled it in some cases.
Thought I'd leave Drinkwater till last, he believed in his ability but it never worked out at Chelsea. Was a very complex character who has his demons, made only worse by some of the issues in his personal life. I met him once before, he was a bit of an idiot but I think he'll got a good heart. 35m for him was good money and he hasn't proved to be worth even a quarter of that fee so far.
It'll be James Maddison, Cags, Ndidi and Tielemans who all go in the next 2-3 years, but I'm confident we'll get triple figures or close to it for all of them.
Back on topic, sorry for taking it so far off.
Thoughts on Conte from Inter? Him or Simone from Atletico? Not sure either would come though, but I'm sure if the money was right...
Lingard is going back to Man United next season so I think West Ham United's jaunt to Europe will be brief Each player has been promised a bonus if they make it to CL places, so doubtful they will buy many new players and be a credible threat next season.
Hopefully Jose's replacement will stabilise things and normal service will resume. We just have to endure Friday, whatever that may bring... if we are lucky a draw...

They'll sell him whilst his value is high, only 12 months left on his deal too. Will probably end up at WHU for 15-20m.Hopefully Jose's replacement will stabilise things and normal service will resume. We just have to endure Friday, whatever that may bring... if we are lucky a draw...

So Liverpool, out of Europe and might not finish top 6. That Klopp, he’s amazing he is Whilst we might not win diddly, we are still in a cup final
What a strange post (apart from the usual expected pisstake I suppose)Neither of us doing great this season but no disgrace going out to Real Madrid in the quarters of CL, how was your European campaign?

Jose isn't going anywhere yet. Talk of our next manager is extremely premature. Get used to the idea we have Jose for at least one more season.CourtAgain said:

Not sure how long you have been supporting Spurs but our current league position pretty much is normal service. We overachieved for three seasons of Poch's tenure and it's caused some supporters to recalibrate their perception of where the club is.GTO-3R said:
If Liverpool can get 25 million for Brewster then Lingard is worth 100 million
fk knows how Liverpool do it, they're better sellers than Leicester! We even paid them 12m for Danny Ward, was a 4th choice goalkeeper if I remember correctly.Sometimes it is genuinely better for the club to sell a good player if you're getting silly money, such as Eriksen, couldn't you have got like 50m for him 12 months previous to him leaving?
