I like how one of them is complaining about Lee Dixon hating them and loving Liverpool so much (like the rest of the media apparently), yet he is a Man City fan, laugh

Yesterday was a big disappointment, but it was a bit like that game against City a few years back. Quite equal, but we didn't take our chances and they were clinical. Then we got a bit frustrated and tried to force it and it doesn't help. Disappointing, but doesn't mean too much. Probably it's a good thing to remind the players if we drop a little they will be waiting.

Did anyone notice the crowd was far noisier yesterday... not sure why? wink

For me, as a neutral, it showed how awesome your manager is and how much City have underperformed. My genuine view - not trolling you guys at all - is that City have much better players.

City really should win the league every single season.

I wouldn't disagree with that apart from 'some' of their players are better, not all.

I'll also add Klopp is a much better coach than Pep. Pep could not have done what Klopp has done with what Klopp has but I guarantee Klopp could have done what Pep has achieved with those resources.

Meh, when it's really really mattered we've beat them. They might have some better players, but we have the better team and better mentality.

Oh definitely. That was my point, really. I’ve seen it all with Utd in the last 25 years and can say that spirit and coaching are what make the difference at the top. Utd’s best teams weren’t necessarily the ones with the most talented players (although that certainly doesn’t hurt).

City have maybe one of the 2 or 3 best squads of all time but haven’t won the CL even once. That says a lot.

That wasn't our most polished performance. Few players deffo showing the signs of celebrations and perhaps not being very tuned in. But hey I'm not going to knock them (this time).

They will win it this season ,there’s only Bayern maybe who could stop them .

You'd think they'd have been able to get past Spurs last season. I would have put money on them beating Chelsea last week too.

The pundits last night said City are the better technical side, and I agree. We edge them on effort and tenacity and spirit (and effort is quite something given how hard City work).

They're a squad not a team and mentally are more unstable than my ex. They dont seem to do well when it matters.

As for the CL I dont think their defense is good enough.

From a pride point of view I was gutted with the result. However it was probably understandable, City being wounded about not winning the league, and us not really having much to play for/still emotionally hungover from winning the league.

It will be a really interesting battle though next season, and UTD are starting to really get things together at the moment too.

I disagree. They're a better attacking technical side. I'd say, technically speaking, we're better at controlling games and defensively.

Too many shandies I reckon.

I remember watching a documentary about the team that Scholes, Nevilles, Butt etc took over, and after a big piss-up they were all over the place on the pitch 3 or 4 days later.

I guess in normal times they probably don't drink much at all, possibly not at all.

Nice to see a Liverpool fan admit United are now closing the gap. Most I know still say we are miles off pace and about 4 players off contending.
I'd say a couple of good signings and we should close the gap considerably. However Klopp is clearly a magician and if he gets you lot to play and scrape the wins you have this season then we have little chance whoever we sign!

it would be daft to ignore the recent improvements being made, mainly down to Bruno who is an excellent signing.

It would be equally daft to compare your next 6 games vs ours, as you are in a battle for CL and we are just looking at whether we can break records. I hope we raise ourselves for that but on the evidence of last night we may not.

No doubt Utd will chuck money at any problem though and will be closer next season

I wouldn't read too much into the game last night.

The league had been won, intensity slipped a little, and Citeh are still a very fine side when they want to play.

Just want to be careful that the season doesn't stumble form here and momentum lost for 2020/21.

My only concern about last night is that it potentially wasn't a one-off. Our st away form dates back to February.
