I disagree. They're a better attacking technical side. I'd say, technically speaking, we're better at controlling games and defensively.
You are way better defensively but no way are you better at controlling games, they dominate possession in a way you aren't even close to imo.

it would be daft to ignore the recent improvements being made, mainly down to Bruno who is an excellent signing.

It would be equally daft to compare your next 6 games vs ours, as you are in a battle for CL and we are just looking at whether we can break records. I hope we raise ourselves for that but on the evidence of last night we may not.

No doubt Utd will chuck money at any problem though and will be closer next season
Yeah I get that it would be daft to compare against forthcoming fixtures as you say... but last 14 games since Bruno arrived and we have scored 38 and conceded 4 Liverpool scored 28 and conceded 19. ...

Sadly when Bruno went off last game we looked average again! so that is a worry. If he got injured we'd be stuffed. Crazy to think how much the team rely on him!

Bruno Fernandes has had what I would call 'the Suarez-effect' at United. Lifted decent players around him through his own performances.

I personally think we need 'a Bruno' type player. Someone to come in and take to the next level an already very good team of players. All due respect to Keita and Minamino but neither have come in and made a real difference.

I like how one of them is complaining about Lee Dixon hating them and loving Liverpool so much (like the rest of the media apparently), yet he is a Man City fan, laugh

Yesterday was a big disappointment, but it was a bit like that game against City a few years back. Quite equal, but we didn't take our chances and they were clinical. Then we got a bit frustrated and tried to force it and it doesn't help. Disappointing, but doesn't mean too much. Probably it's a good thing to remind the players if we drop a little they will be waiting.

Did anyone notice the crowd was far noisier yesterday... not sure why? wink
Was definitely noisier than a regular game at the Etihad, less empty seats too.

They will win it this season ,there’s only Bayern maybe who could stop them .
You'd think they'd have been able to get past Spurs last season. I would have put money on them beating Chelsea last week too.
They should win it, they've been favourites from the start, they'll probably choke and blame the world for being against them as they always do.

For me, as a neutral, it showed how awesome your manager is and how much City have underperformed. My genuine view - not trolling you guys at all - is that City have much better players.

City really should win the league every single season.
The pundits last night said City are the better technical side, and I agree. We edge them on effort and tenacity and spirit (and effort is quite something given how hard City work).
Foden and DeBruyne is a formidable centre pairing, bit worrying for next season if those two are firing.

It will be a really interesting battle though next season, and UTD are starting to really get things together at the moment too.
Nice to see a Liverpool fan admit United are now closing the gap. Most I know still say we are miles off pace and about 4 players off contending.
I'd say a couple of good signings and we should close the gap considerably. However Klopp is clearly a magician and if he gets you lot to play and scrape the wins you have this season then we have little chance whoever we sign!
There's definite green shoots there as much as I'd not like to admit it. Greenwood and Fernandes both look good. Even Martial has started putting some effort in.

Still can't decide about Rashford, you picture him as a kid and then realise he's got over 200 appearances under his belt and more often than not when I watch him he underwhelmes. I can't see him being a Utd great unless he starts to turn it on consistently soon.

Rash is still kinda a kid though, he's 22, his goal tally goes up each season with it looking like being his first 20+ season in the PL, he struggles as at times he was required to carry the whole team or was the only goal threat, he'll be fine smile

I can see him on the same trajectory as Coutinho. Flashes of brilliance but won't really find that week-in, week-out consistency till his mid-20s.

I say we hold off for a few weeks and see if we break the points record, and if we do we can then change it to Official Best Ever Premier League Team.

Personally I'd rather leave the thread title as it is.

Do it! I’ve only had one good laugh this week and I could do with another!

+1

These “quadruple winners” / “lots of FA cups so there” titles are a bit needy and embarrassing
