Nice to see Jones get on the scoresheet. Looks hungry like Neco.

Blur?! When did we start playing music when goals are scored?!! Ugh.
Probably the same time when crowds were banned. I assume they will stop when the crowd is back. Or I hope so at least!

Pleased for Jones. Good things for him in years to come, hopefully.

Thankfully managed to pluck another game out of the fire this season, somehow.

89 points
17/17 wins at home this season

Lets try and smash 100 pts and win every game at home.

Another game to forget - but then again, I doubt any of us will remember the season for these final matches.

Great to see another good cameo from Jones and getting on the scoresheet too. Doubly pleased because I stuck some money on the score being 2-0 after we scored the first, so Jones tripled my money!

5 games left. 104 max points available.

We are not going to get over 100 if we keep playing like this as better teams would win or draw that game.

2-0 flattered us, pleased for Jones but we lacked urgency and guile. Alisson our MOTM, says it all

I disagree. Your lot didn’t turn up, but they didn’t need to. Aston Villa came to lose and didn’t go away disappointed. Never in doubt.

I thought Villa were cautiously trying to get a goal in the first half. At half time no one would have been surprised if Villa were in the lead.

Second half, with the subs Klopp made, we stepped it up a gear and Villa didn't have an answer.

Villa set up to contain and play on the break - if they had more quality up front, they might well have at least scored. Think we were fortunate to play Villa today, while once again almost being sat in a comfy chair, as Souness was saying afterwards. Poor performance but the goals were decent.

Has anyone popped onto Bluemoon to see if the meltdown has begun yet?
Will hold for the CAS decision before venturing over there.
Might have to venture over sooner at this rate.

Interesting stat, we started post covid break with 82pts, Man city can now only get 81 points.

Crazy to see Wolves, Arsenal and Man U have lost less than Man C. Must be a VAR thing.

idk what is up with them , I'm sure they will spend big , again, and fix their defense issues next season.

Us, Chelsea, City next season will be tight.

I think City’s biggest problem, or at least up there with the weak defence, is that they have nothing like the desire or spirit of most title winning sides.

Even Utd if they bag 1 or 2 more good signings could be up there.

It depends if us and City drop the standard of the last 2/3 seasons. If the bar to win it is 100 ish points I can only see one of us winning it next year.

Yeah manu are almost there wouldnt take too much, good turn around for ole

Though fun fact - if we'd just stopped playing for 2020 in the EPL we would (after the first 19 games) still be ahead of Manu now (then after 33 games) in the table.

I think a lot of that left with Kompany.

I am still concerned we seem reluctant to invest, when Chelsea have and City/Utd will
