How does Klopp always know just what to say?!

Klopp said:
From a personal point of view, I'm happy that City can play Champions League next year because if I think about the league, if City has 10-12 games less, I don't think anybody has a chance. But I don't think yesterday was a good day for football.
Spot on. Glad he speaks up.

You almost don't need to click the links to know what he'll say about transfers.

Possibly, maybe, unlikely, only if we need it, only if we have the money, this team is very good, don't expect much.

Klopps transfer Bingo.

Sounds to me like your expectations are being managed.

Come on, guys - it’s your job to stop City winning the title next year.

Actually it's City's job to stop us winning the title next year...

Klopp has only bought when he can see someone he thinks will be an improvement. And they need talent as well as the right attitude. So I don't think we will ever buy loads of players at once under him. It will be a question how does he manage things when the squad needs refreshed? BR couldn't do it. Klopp for sure should be better, but it's always tricky when you have a great team that picks itself, it's very hard to start replacing people in it before the decline has happened. I'd say another striker is probably most needed now to keep things fresh/have another option if we have a injury to Salah/Mane.

Exactly. Either we buy a player because they're a bargain (Shaq, Mini, Robertson), or we spend big on ready made stars when there is a hole in the team.

The reason we were so hesitant on Werner is because there currently isn't a Werner shaped hole in the team.

I'm honestly not expecting anyone of note to come in this summer.

Same - we had this discussion early this year and I said you dont change the front 3 unless you have to, they are not players that carry injury and as a 3 they work brilliant - last year I read in here we should have bought Zaha and it was a mistake not doing so and that he should have been rotated with Salah - if you do that you are weakening your team, Zaha is good he can influence games but he will never be at Salahs level so to accommodate him you are weakening your team - its a very catch 22 situation for Klopp.
Minamino will be being worked on to be able to play Bobbys role should we need to change it, he has not really had many chances yet but people are not counting him (for me its because he was 7m, if we had paid the true value of 30m people I dont think would be talking about a new forward quite as much)

As I said earlier to we are a team/squad that wants to promote youth players to join them so they get a chance, if we go down the City route of signing a player whenever there is a problem and not giving the youth the chance, players like Elliot etc would poss not join (I know he is a red but im sure you get the point)

The signing has to be perfect for Klopp to make it, not to just add to numbers. People say we have a weak squad, this squad has been to 2 champions league finals in 2 years and got 97 points and better this year, its a lot stronger than people think.

The thing is we see when Salah/Mane are either out or having a bad game we look a lot less threatening overall. It's been fine this year as there wasn't really any longer period without them, but if we do have one then Bobby and Origi don't look like adding lots of goals now. Part of what makes Mane and Salah work is them being on together - you then have to cover both as they're both so dangerous, which helps each one. If it's just one then it is easier to mark them. This is of course looking at small improvements, which is not needed if they don't get injured, but if there is a long term one it will effect us. Minamino has not had much of a chance, so it's nothing about the money, just he doesn't (so far) seem like a Mane/Salah stand in as you said yourself. He's done fine in his limited games so far but has looked more like a hard working person rather than deadly threat.

Every team wants to promote youth, it's just very hard for the top clubs as they need to use great people with experience, or have a few down years bedding in young players (unless you get an exceptional talent like TAA). Hopefully some of the current ones will make it, but just look back over the years to see how few do. So many "this is a great player coming through", then they don't even make it when sold on to other clubs.

I don't think people say we have a weak squad, just there is (always) room for improvement. You just need to look at City to see that. They've dropped back a lot of points (relatively) because of a few key positions not having coverage, and so with injuries/lack of squad replacement suddenly they're more like a standard very good league team in terms of points, rather than the recent crazy points we've both got.

For me the key positions are TAA and either Mane/Salah for us. One of them goes and it will affect the team. Most of the rest have good enough similar players to stand in for them and us not to lose too much/anything.

From bbc

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the headliner who misses out as Arsenal make five changes. In come Torreira, Holding, Soares, nelson and Saka.

Liverpool make just two changes as youngsters Curtis Jones and Neco Wlliams sit it out. Back in come Trent Alexander-Arnold and the Ox.

With no Auba and their Defence this should be a battering.

So I'll go 1-0 to them.
