I don't get the 'we're not trying narrative'.
The games I've watched theres a lot of effort and they are trying to do we, we're just not at the usual fluidity. We had 24 shots and over 60% possession last night. That's not a lazy team.
Our play is complex and requires all players being in the right area at the right time. It's clear Hendo is a loss as he helps form the attacks early. Also, the players touches all look a bit ropey. We look out of practise. We look the same as we do after every break.
I'm not worried, this just looks like a tired out of sorts team. It's temporary.

With the amount City have spent they should be favourites every season!
I agree. I think City will be favourites next season. I cannot see them ever not finishing in the top 2, whereas (and this will annoy you), I think this Liverpool side could go on quite a bad run if it got one or two injuries. Klopp is comfortably the best manager in the world, but the squad is paper thin.Murph7355 said:
Has it though?
A great title win could have seriously been one to thump home intent for next season and keep them in the record books for ages.
I get that the record books mean little to some... But they do get talked about a lot.
I think it's a shame for a season to fade out like this. And I hope it doesn't transfer over to the start of next season - City are flying right now.....despite them having nothing to play for. A lot of top flight sport is in the mind... Play to the whistle etc.
City have won nothing - still have a point to prove, and stuff to play for, places to play for, you could argue. The record books state we won the league this year by however many points. The other records are only noted in pub conversations or trivia quizzes, or internet forums . Usual fluidity? We've been really hit and miss all season if we're honest. How many games have we done just enough... It's no surprise that our performances have dropped just marginally and it's meant we've gone from winning to drawing and losing games. The games I've watched theres a lot of effort and they are trying to do we, we're just not at the usual fluidity. Souness: We won it with 5 games to go under Bob Paisley, we lost 4 in a row. We said we had to win the last game... we scraped a draw against Aston Villa on the last day. It happens.
The focus, the intensity, 1 or 2%, it's not there.
Liverpool's 1982/83 title-winning season ended with no wins in final 7 games, failing to score in 4 of them, with 5 defeats.
The following season they won the league for the third year in a row.
This. Every time. The bit missing from that was it was Paisley's last game - after a record breaking reign, and titles won. They still couldn't perform on that last day, for him. Didn't affect the next season though. Don't honestly understand any arguing against this. Any projections about next season are just silly. The focus, the intensity, 1 or 2%, it's not there.

are you not a bit frustrated that the players seem to have given up on breaking a few of those records, I am.
Its OK you can say if you are a bit (but you won't)
Course you would want the record but there is being pissed off then having a little reality check about what we have done and realising its been a monumental year... Its OK you can say if you are a bit (but you won't)
And support them as long as you want - I dont really care tbh , just find this thread a bit depressing

Don't forget this is a * time apparently. It's not normal so I don't buy this is it now and next season is looking st.
You might want to go back and read some match reports or comments on here. There's been a number of times when the front three have all been off the boil. I think Firmino has only had two or three good games all season. Mane has definitely been the only one of the front three whose been above average for most of the season.

Klopp is comfortably the best manager in the world, but the squad is paper thin.We were lucky with injuries - although our first choice goalie missed a fair few games (Adrian did well when he came in, apart from in Europe at the end) but our front 3 were mostly ever present. We perhaps won't be as lucky with injuries again. We do need more depth - we have some talented youngsters but nothing like what City have as a first team squad.
Not winning the league again will no doubt be trumpeted a failure by many but we've had an incredible 2 years and that can't last forever. We could still win a trophy or 2 next year but with City spending, staying in the CL, Guardiola carrying on, you would have to say they will be challenging for the title again - they are the yard stick to beat, just as they have been for a few years.
We will be up there - the challenge is for other clubs to get up there too.

I find this thread refreshing really, it's usually full of constructive criticism and focused on improvement (if you ignore the WUM's) compared to some of the other forums where if you believe them our whole squad is full of the best players in the world and Divock Origi is the second coming. I find this place the perfect middle groundAnd support them as long as you want - I dont really care tbh , just find this thread a bit depressing

I agree with that. Winning the PL is huge, especially with such a dominant City side there to be beaten. You have every right to be utterly chuffed with it.1) PREM

Absolutely, we've set such a high standard we expect more and more.
Imagine waiting 30yrs for a blowjob, finally getting one off a supermodel, she swallows and then complaining 'yeah but her breath wasn't great'...

I can only imagine what it will be like when were not winning and it will happen soon - Klopp is fighting teams with budgets well beyond his what he is doing here is unbelievable, we spent fk all last summer and prob fk all this and he is up against a manager most rated the best and a squad worth over 1.3billion....
here to wed and some small celebrations

I don't think its effort, its focus.Sloppy passes, wasteful finishing, and even VVD and Alisson making uncharacteristic errors.
It is possible to be both bloody delighted at winning the league but disappointed at some of the recent games
