We don't ( and hopefully never will) have the blank cheques that the clubs in blue have had over the last decade or so and as such allowed them to buy trophies. The flip of that is we will always struggle to compete. The only hope is a strong academy of talent.

I mean in the respect of outsiders coming in and throwing cash to buy success. I'd rather our club does it on it's own merit. Would Chelsea or City be where they are, have won what they have had no billionaires come in? Of course not. Perhaps a controversial point of mine but still. It's also nothing new, AC Milan became very very successful when one media mogul bought the club and threw millions to sign the van Bastens/Gullits etc. At least Berlusconi is Italian. Look where they are now, doldrums for the past god knows how many years since the money dried up.

Apparently Aubameyang has “got the flu” and won’t be travelling to Sheffield. My chin is somewhat itchy and I’m putting money on toys being thrown out of pram and a major bust up. Just to add to the ststorm ESR has a strained ankle.
My son's team (AC Finchley) is playing a double header against Borehamwood Crusaders this morning. We have four subs. All four are injured. Despite, I'm still looking forward to this game. I'm also the manager. It's my job to. Don't care too much about the Arsenal game today. Of course, will watch it but my enthusiasm for grassroots football is real.
Good win that but we were playing a very poor team who offered nothing.
Can't really complain about anyone as they got on with it and got the result.
Cabellos played as well as I've seen since he came, he just needs to do it more often.
Xhaka did great at left back but wasn't really tested. Very professional performance.
Mari was good as well, seems a bit more assured with the ball at his feet than Gabriel.
Laca was hungry and played great and took his goals well.
Partey was good again, no sloppiness and had to laugh when he sold that dummy and set up the third.
Martinelli was decent and scored a good goal, seems to have that instinct of being in the right place for a striker, needs to play up front more.
Hopefully Saka makes a recovery for Thursday, the first goal was Wengeresqe.

Looks like Balogun is set to stay after all. Good news. Hopefully he'll get some minutes next year.
Short of a marquee new manager, statement of intent from our owner and somehow fluking the Europa, we aren't going to be attractive to any big signings in the summer, so makes sense to throw some money internally / have leverage of the contract to sell them properly in the future. I'm awaiting the season ticket renewal about 30 seconds after we whimper out tonight and I really not sure if I will bother - it's only catching up with my friend that has kept me going the last few years.
I stumbled on this video the other night and it was absolutely brilliant. If you have a spare forty minutes you’ll enjoy it. Two things stood out to me, how Wrighty and Bergkamp are the absolute polar opposites but they just click so well, they even roomed together. Secondly, reading the comments you know somebody is world class when comment after comment are from supporters of other PL teams. I felt sorry for Wrighty with him not being an Invincible

Yep. Though, to be fair, getting Balogun to stay would be good business regardless. He's got potential. me going the last few years.
