I can't imagine any Arsenal fan not wanting this to be a penalty if it was at the other end. https://twitter.com/SassyTheGooner/status/15250592...

Son jumps for the ball, Cedric is badly out of position and beaten, with his back to Son, and doesn't compete for the ball. Instead, he nudges Son in the back (no matter how small, you can't deny there's contact), and Son misses the header.

That's a pretty obvious call for me.

It's obvious if it was the other way around it would be viewed differently. it's softish, but those are the rules and the players know that they are in danger of conceding penalties and cards. TBH the discipline from the Gooners went out of the window, they were sent out to rough up Son which probably went against them with the ref. Could have been a straight red for one challenge anyway. They have little to complain about. They will still finish 4th. Also, Arteta's comments were petulant, no surprises there. Perhaps it's why they have such a poor disciplinary record in the league?

Son is too smart for cedric to try that fancy stuff with. He has been playing football with the world class cheat that is Harry Kane. He will go down at any contact in the box.

That video is no way near as damning as the other angle shown on Sky, clear pen IMO

The fact that many similar instances of pushing and holding get missed is not really a defence

Manager don't say anything these days, nor do the players. I don't know why Arteta can't give his opinion on the incidents without getting in trouble. I barely watch any of the post match stuff these days as it's one scripted cliche after another.

If that was a penalty then there should be one in most games every time there is a corner. It was certainly soft.

I agree it was soft. I'd be upset if it had been the other way. TBF, Holding was rightly sent off, and no way are you winning or drawing the game from 0-0(i.e absent the pen) with an hour to go and 10 men.

Agree on Holding. If you're going to do that at least try to disguise it!

This after your forward dived in the box in the first few minutes, player dived when Davies came near to try to get him sent off and balance the teams - really? There was only one team playing dirty and diving yesterday especially after goals went in.
Shame because you're players are much better than that

I'm an Arsenal fan! Just not blinkered!

First part of the first half we were bossing the game and then handed it to them.

It was always going to be a tough game and no matter how you look at it, our inability to rough up the Spurs players and not get caught was our downfall.

I'm surprised at the number of Spurs fans thinking we'll take 4th, however. Is it self preservation/not getting hopes up? I'm not confident at all going into the last two games...

Tis the way of managers, I'm struggling to think of many/any that aren't whingey fkers when their team loses hehe
Rodgers is certainly one that isn't, he's usually pretty happy in defeat, sadly.

All to play for in the last 2 games then, least it makes it interesting, I hope Arsenal do it tbh.

Apparently you're the favourites for Tielemans in the summer, could rely on you obtaining CL football though.

Not sure that was ever going to work, I think you might have got double back. If ever a game lived up to the cliche "men against boys" that was it

When you look at rob Holding's second-yellow offence, compare it to when Harry Kane went in (late) on Gabriel in the home game.

Unlike your lads, who will go down in the box without any contact it seems? Another booking the ref missed.

Somewhat surprising how quick some of you are to call out Kane as a cheat when things like the above happened in the very last game you played. Did you go to the Arteta school of injustice?

That being said, I respect the more pragmatic of you who saw the game and ref decisions for what they were.
