It'll be much harder next season juggling the league and CL football, you might end up hoping for 4th, a European run and a trophy again.

Will need 3 or 4 very good signings to compete on all 4 fronts IMO.

We need balogun in and Jesus to play off him. ESR to feature too..

The boys that went to the WC are throughly run out.

We realistically need a Striker, a midfielder in the Mold of Rice if we can get him. and then back up Centre defender/s for Saliba and Garbiel.

If we get Rice then realistically we're only going to get a defender as a bonus.

more game time for ESR some improvement from our bench players and we should be in for a title push again.

Pretty much. Chelsea, Liverpool and United will probably drop huge sums of money this summer too.

I think we need 3 or 4 good signings to just compete on one front in all honesty. Competing on 4 fronts like City just isn't realistic for anyone but them, we'd need another 6 or 7 quality players.

Be happy with 4th for the next few seasons if we can push for a CL and a couple more FA Cups tbh, bit over the slog for the league.

I was fumin’ hun last night, but today a dose of reality and a good nights sleep and things aren’t so bad.

CL next season is always something to look forward to and might attract a few signings we otherwise might not have got.

Oh and mind the gap is always a pleasure cool

It’s disappointing on a huge scale the way the last few results have gone for you. But you’d have taken second and CL footy next season at the start of the campaign I’m sure …

Yes true, although it becomes a different question when you frame it alongside being top of the league for 80% of the season.

...with an eight point cushion and some bankable games to play.

It will be a long time before we get another opportunity like that.

To be truly Spursy, arsenal would need to drop to 7th, laugh as the 6th place team gets 3 points and then finish in 8th.
Yep hopefully this is the way it will go and a lot of Spurs fans will agree. Europa is blown now after losing to Villa so the last thing needed is a season in the conference, will be miles better off with a season out of Europe and concentrate on the domestics and getting a team together to play good cohesive football as a unit, something we seem to have forgotten how to do. You never know we might turn into you lot next season laugh

I mean it was 8 points, they had a game in hand and we had to play them still so ...

Still doesn't excuse the Southampton results, or the West Ham one tbf.

Soton was away as well which makes the points dropped at home even more difficult to swallow. Not bagging three at Anfield is the standout for me. At 0-2 it took one moment of switching off that started the collapse.

Using my logic of how things are going for us.

Missed out on top 4 last season, smashed it this season.
Missed out on the league this season, will smash it next season.
Missed out on winning the CL next season, going to smash it the season after.

Can't wait till 2024/25/26/27 biglaugh

True, I omitted it because at least they're a better team and Anfield is a nightmare to go to.

3-3 and 1-1 against a dreadful Southampton is what sticks for me.

They're my late mum's team and would of loved them to stay up but not at the cost of the league for us. In the end got neither of those wishes. grumpy

I am in the same boat. Disappointing, but after the dross of the past 20 years, it has been great to be looking forward to Arsenal matches again. We came up short on squad depth, we can fix this this window.

Onwards and upwards!

Who knows where we would have been if we got a pen at Saint when Jesus was pulled back when though on goal or when Dan Burn tried to take Gabriel's shirt off at the Emirates or when Odegaard was wrongly judged to have fouled Erickson for Martinellis goal at OT and Toney's offside equaliser where they forgot to draw the lines, instead of just apologies after the games.
Were there no iffy / incorrect decisions that went in your favour all season?

I am just glad you made it a race rather than a procession, was hoping you would break the City stranglehold but unfortunately a dozen stars need to align in the same season for someone else to beat them (and their dodgy financing)

we are finishing in 2nd, it's been a magnificent season for the mighty Gooners and it's time to take this great team onto the top competition .

places like the San Siro and, if they qualify, to the world's best stadium, El Madrigal.

looks like whatever happens our lads will probably end up doing a shift in Madrid.

no news on poaching Kante from Chelsea , I am disappoint.

Indeed, not even a yellow for a clear through the back revenge tackle, and even high-fiving Mitoma after the tackle. Usual level of protection for our players.

Ivan Toney banned: Brentford striker given eight-month ban over betting. Suspension starts from today so won't face Citeh, good job we already played them and he had no affect on the score line...and that we've already screwed up the lead. Strange timing all the same https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65626690

Martinelli was protected by not being sent off for his challenge
