Would be nice now we have a real defensive mid that we could make use of Ozil in his final season, seems such a monumental waste on both sides, we know he isn’t going to bust a gut but that was never his game. I remember a few season back, possibly 2015, I got some tickets via ticket exchange right down the front and watched a masterclass as Ozil pretty much single handed lay ripped West Ham a new one.

Pleased with the transfer window but sad to hear about Gunnersarus. Hopefully it is just a temporary measure. Could of done with shipping some more of the deadwood out in my opinion but I’m sure that’s easier said than done.
Yup...or cancelling their contracts like Mr J Wilshere at West Ham (what could have been). Only three months til the next transfer window. Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari left out of the PL squad...so Ozil has more chance than them of playing! Although Mari is injured I think.

As much as i liked Ozil as a player, right now the cynic in me thinks Ozil and his people are playing a very smart PR game. Cupramax said:
Just seen two ex Arsenal boys are out on the respective backsides, Jack Wheelchair and Danny Welbeck have both been released from their contracts!! Wonder who’ll be the next to keep their gravy train going? What we wouldn’t give for Jack in his heyday, now, what a waste of talent,
Wheelchair has made only 16 league appearances for West Ham since joining them 2 years ago.....!He'll be lucky to even get a run out with a Championship club now, although Hitchin Town tweeted that they'll take him if he wants somewhere to train....!
And given Watford are now a Championship team anyway, and there's no space for Welbeck there, he might not even find anywhere else in the Championship either in next week or so.
How times have changed in the space of 3/4 years for them, and its not as if they are late 30's at the end of a career.
I’m guessing Welbecks wage was the problem, rather than his play, although he’s been injured a lot as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up somewhere in the championship or perhaps Fulham, but I honestly think Jacks had it now, I’m guessing he’s had a nice financial goodbye from WH as he was on £100k and had a year left..

I do wonder about these players that get cast aside and yet still think they are worth 100k+ per week, and then seem perplexed by that.I'm not surprised that Jack is in the position he is in tbh.......will be interesting to see where if anywhere he ends up.
Surprised that Welbeck didn't make sure his wage demands were not reduced such that it might have kept him in the PL with a team like Burnley or Sheff Utd etc., who I would have thought could do with someone like him (injury issues aside of course)
His only option will be sit it out till Jan window or hope for a Championship club which will mean a wage drop anyway, and if that was a problem at Watford he'll be sitting on his arse for a long time to come.

Soares is a weird one? Wtf is the point of buying him if he’s not in the PL squad?MOBB said:
Do we think there is any chance of Ozil playing for us again?
Our squad is looking strong now and a decent Ozil added to that would be fantastic
Or am I in cuckoo land :-(
Never say never, against the lower placed teams who set up to defend an Ozil playing a free role in front of Xhaka and Partey has the potential to unlock stubborn defences, however he will probably need a good run of games to get up to speed which I don't think Arteta will give him.Our squad is looking strong now and a decent Ozil added to that would be fantastic

I wouldn't mind him having another chance behind a solid midfield just to see if he can still have an effect when he doesn't have to worry about tracking back.

I think I read yesterday that the transfer deadline for Championship (and other domestic lower leagues) to Premier League clubs is a coupe of weeks away - so still chance for more moves till Oct 16th - so Wellbeck could be back in Premier League.I'm not surprised that Jack is in the position he is in tbh.......will be interesting to see where if anywhere he ends up.

Correct.I had read it that that the extra time was for between EFL only, but you are right, PL teams can still sign or arrange loan deal with EFL teams up to the extended deadline.
