While we didn't play very well today, that penalty decision against Lacazette is unreal, it's as clear a pull of the shirt as you can get!!
Willian coming on ahead of Martinelli is baffling, it's obvious to anyone it's just not working out. Continuing to play him is the kind of thing which gets fans on a manager's back, very quickly.
On a positive Ryan did well, and probably would have saved the goal, if it wasn't for the deflection.

Back in the real world Martinez will have a worldie, Xhaka will get a red within 15 mins for breathing too hard near the ref after having both legs broken by Cantona style flying kick (Ref and VAR will back that up as "Xhaka threw himself at the opposition player" despite being stood perfectly still), Grealish will nutmeg Ryan from a freekick in their own half, Gabriel still rusty with another own goal and Martinez to score the third with a clearance...normal service resumed battling for mid-table mehdom.
Equal least goals scored in the Top 13 and it shows I wonder what the stats are for chances created and chances created taken?

Martinelli is not fully fit still, whatever is wrong with him it’s keeping him from the first team. While I do think that we've been short-changed recently when it comes to refereeing decisions, at the end of the day the Villa game just straight up wasn't good enough.
I think it was the strongest ine up we could have put out too, so no complains with the initial selection. Willian coming on does make me wonder if he really does have a minumum number of appearances clause as long as he's fit, but surely not, that would be an absurdly stupid thing to put into a contract. It is Arsenal after all I guess.
I'd like to see Odegaard start next time, and Auba too. Maybe up top, and give Laca a break? I'd like to see Balogun get a game, but I know that isn't going to happen. We desperately, desperately need Tierney back too.
I'm not entirely sure that a season out of Europe is going to do much for us. I don't have any hope that it would drasitcally way the club is run or managed, and although our players are tired now, that's more to do with the weird COVID season and games being way closer together than normal.

The first leg of Arsenal's Europa League last-32 match against Benfica is set to be played in Rome.
The UK is implementing strict coronavirus quarantine rules around people returning from Portugal, which has forced the February 18 match to be moved from Lisbon to neutral territory.
Right that's much better...might as well pull a sickie for the return leg, can't see us getting past Benfica with our lack of goals, or ability to beat the ref, or ability not to do something stupid.

We have been better in the Europa League (not too much referee bias, VAR to be use in the KO stages though), maybe we we should go all out for that competition as it would seem the best way to get into the Champions League.
I will settle for going all out to avoid relegation this season and build from there.Indeed. Next fixtures are:
Leeds
Benfica
Man City
Benfica
Leicester.
I think thats our season right there, if we can get some results out of those we will be on our way.
After that, it is Burnley, Spuds, Hammers and Liverpool.
I would usually look forward to the Hammers game as a holiday weekend but the way they are playing this season i don't think that anymore.
