I thought the government allowing it to continue made the availability of all matches a requirement? Either way it would be daft not to show them, as there will be cameras at every match showing it to a global audience.
From The Times

“ One issue the Premier League will have to tackle now is that its main broadcast partners Sky and BT Sport do not actually like having to show every match to subscribers for no extra charge.”

Sure they would end up making more money if they charged say £3 a game, or £15 a month for all games

That is the complete opposite of what was being said a few weeks ago. Sky and Bt Sport were apparently sick of having to charge and were blaming it all on the PL. plenty of sources on google saying jus that, random link below.

I’m not sure thats what the said at all. They didnt want to be involved in the pay per view but they didnt say they were happy to broadcast all the games free.

What’s in the middle then? They don’t get paid to broadcast games, they pay for the right to do it normally and charge individuals a monthly subscription for it.

At the end of last season they were possibly getting more subscribers either monthly or one offs for the extra games (most were behind a paywall), only the really unpopular ones were free to view on BBC or Sky. Ditto the start of this one.

Then the PPV walls went up, at the request of the PL clubs. All hell broke loose and Sky & BT tried to distance themselves from it.

Are you saying that Sky / BT don’t want to show the matches at all, even though they already have all the infrastructure at every match as they provide the global feeds for non-U.K. TV channels.
