Yup. It's always the same dreadful clubs behind it as well. Get rid.

Awful idea, with no relegation most games would just be glorified friendlies.

If the Premier League had any balls they'd say you can't play in the domestic league if you sign up.
But we all know that won't happen so they need to play hard ball regarding fixtures etc.No cancellation of domestic fixtures so you can play European League games, docking of points for fielding weakened teams, not fulfilling fixtures etc
I wouldn’t be so sure…

It’s a fking disgrace. I’m ashamed my club has signed up for it but I’m not surprised with our owners and their despicable greed.

Agreed. The fans of all clubs involved need to make a stand here. Hoping there is a strong statement from some of the bigger fan groups as a start.

Surely will happen. I can't imagine there's many, if any, fans in England of the clubs that have signed up that want it. Purely for the owners benefit.

Hopefully it'll be a st show of just testing the waters.

Knew nothing about it until I saw the statement at halftime, have zero interest in it and am also disappointed

PH piss up for an FC United vs Bayern CL final it is

Thought Untied conducted themselves excellently through the pandemic but this stinks quite a bit. Am I right in thinking it needs the Premier League's permission or else those teams are out of the PL?

Agreed, there will be no away fans going and I hope home fans let the owners know what they think. I hope that the Prem League make it known that teams who sign up will be removed from the domestic league. I think that is the only thing that could stop this.

Yep correct, apparently it's being financed by the Septics to the tune of 4.6 billion

18 teams expanding to 22 but then that's it, no relegation

It sounds fking dreadful, I'm watching us struggle against Burnley which is hard but neither do I want weekly Harlem Globetrotters type games, it ain't broke, don't fix it

I'd much rather watch us struggle against any team in England than we ourselves out in Europe in some plastic league. At least it'd give Spurs a chance at the League Cup though.

Not a chance in hell, if the big six are serious, of the Prem kicking them out.

Just for starters all of the Sponsors and TV companies will be wanting their money back immediately...and it’ll be reinvested in the new Super League just to really rub it in. Remember, finances in this covid era are in deep st as it is.

The Prem would thus collapse as a competition of any note...see Scotland for details.

PSG and Bayern will also ultimately join once they see that the Champions League has been devalued by about 95% without the super league clubs.

This has been very carefully planned, make no mistake about it. It’s a coup.

I can't be bothered to get upset about this. PL and UEFA getting upset that their cash cow is about to get gazumped by a bigger cash cow, my heart bleeds.

Sky and the PL ruined football as a genuine sport where the poor teams had a chance of rising to the top. The only winners were the players and owners, the fans lost out massively.

We'll see. Premier league rights are sold until 2022, play hardball now and this gets strangled in its cot.

I’ve already become quite so so with football of recent, probably due to no crowds and it not being the same and maybe some Jose effect. But if this goes ahead I think I am done. Sky and PL yeah maybe they ruined it a while
Back but this seems to be ripping the core fabric of our game apart. Bloody yanks!

Also need to remember we’re not fans anymore. We’re customers!
