I wouldnt watch it. Would have to find myself a new team to support, dont want to do that but I will if I have too.
Is that what you said in 1992 when Sky and the PL stitched up the Football League and put your favourite football club on PPV?The idea of having to travel between countries to watch half your games sounds disgusting for fans.

Have seen clips of Gary Neville's comments on the subject of a European Super League and he absolutely nails it. Well worth searching them out.
He was pretty vocal on Sky and I completely agree with him and most of those on here denouncing it. It’s a st idea. The PL was arguably necessary to get football back after the hooligan issues of the 70s and 80s. This is absolutely not needed. Well end up with an American Football set up soon. Teams moved as franchises, no relegation, no promotion, nothing to really love or fear in a seasonanonymous said:

Not here. It’s posturing but given how rotten football is at the top of the game it might cause a big enough ripple with UEFA to pull their socks up. Platini and Blatter wasn’t that long ago. I’d be intrigued to hear from David Gill on this as I’m appalled with United. Slow said:

Maybe research the formation of the PL. It was all about greed. The idea of having to travel between countries to watch half your games sounds disgusting for fans.
As for your second point, where do you think half the Champions League/Thursday Cup matches take place?

1994. FFS. How does it feel to be able to sit down and stand up with out making involuntary noises? I miss those days. The idea of having to travel between countries to watch half your games sounds disgusting for fans.
Having followed United across Europe for years I’d be livid. Unless your a full on, must go to every game nutter and I’m related to a few, it’s terrible. A trip away in Europe for most normal fans is a once in a lifetime experience not a weekly one.
There’s a reason American sports don’t export well. No true jeopardy. Fortunately this won’t happen but to even be at the table, fking Glazers. Disgrace but nothing sourprises (intentional spelling and should be a word) me in football anymore.

People are losing perspective here. It’s just about the big 6 in England wanting to play in another more lucrative european competition. The Prem will remain the Prem.
Well the fact the Prem felt the need to release a statement halfway through a game or that the clubs are even at risk however unlikely of being kicked out if the PL doesn't grant permission (it won't) suggests it's somewhat of a big dealThis may all calm down but the thought of being in a league that is wholly run and operated by American Hedge Funds with no promotion or relegation sounds absolutely st

But they can’t stay on the premier league and be in a super league nonsense.....The proposal is for a replacement for Champions League, not the domestic one. The only reason we wouldn't be in the PL would be because we've been kicked out for having the temerity to threaten their own racket.

And yet if you'd bothered to read the link you'd see other domestic leagues are similarly threatening in their language, maybe it's just a st idea and you're seemingly the only one who doesn't get it? If UEFA and FIFA outlaw it then that’s it. They regulate European and World football. Yes we could have a boring kick around every year, but there’s no more PL, FA Cup etc. The proposal is for a replacement for Champions League, not the domestic one. The reality is that the English clubs are doing it to try to get more TV money from the PL in return for not leaving. The CL will get a revamp so it’s slightly easier for the top leagues and clubs to guarantee they are always playing in it. It’s pure greed and self interest. The extra money won’t help the clubs (as transfer fees / wage demands will just rise) just the owners bank balances

They're all threatened because they all stand to gain nothing from the proposals and see the financial value of their own leagues diminished. It's utter hypocrisy. They are ALL motivated by nothing more than money. This is just one group moaning about another.
The fatcats have sat there earning billions from people like you and I in a monopolistic stranglehold. It's no surprise they would fight tooth and claw against anything that might threaten it.

In the interests of being balanced there is truth in what you’re saying, but that’s not the be all and end all. It's utter hypocrisy. They are ALL motivated by nothing more than money. This is just one group moaning about another.

Football has always been about relegation and promotion and winning titles. Every team is fighting to stay in or get promoted from the league they’re in. If you take that away you create an irrelevant kick around. There is still relegation from the PL. with this there won’t be as it stands as the clubs will be on their own

There would be 15 permanent places in the new 'champions league' and 5 places each season for other clubs. Clubs who win their domestic competition who aren't in the 15 could still compete in the super League, except it would likely be far more lucrative for them than the current arrangements.Football has always been about relegation and promotion and winning titles. The 'breakaway' is only from European competition. It doesn't stop involvement with the domestic leagues (unless they spitefully ban the teams involved). Leicester could still have won the Premier League, then had a super lucrative entry in the Super League, playing the massive clubs.
There is a lot of deceptive guff being spouted by all those who stand to gain nothing from it. If UEFA gave the teams a better share of the revenue there wouldn't be a superleague threat. Who knows, the whole thing could be a negotiating tactic to force just that.
