Fair play to the Scousers. Let's hope McGuire can be ready for the final! Stuffed like turkeys tonight.

I think momentum is huge in football. Throwing the Leicester game put an end to our momentum.
We had to play that team at Leicester. Your end up running players into the ground Ord. You have to use the squad.
Agreed. 3 games in a week too much . We didn't throw Leicester.

Didn’t see that coming, I was expecting to get a thumping tonight.

Nice to see you guys have a bad day though. Because that’s what it was not us outplaying you. beer

I repeat this for the last goal too. A blind man would know where salah was going to put that shot.
Doesn’t matter. 1 on 1 is nigh on impossible to stop and even if he dived that way a half decent striker will put it the other side. Out problems run far deeper than that.

Somehow we have the best record in the prem for games lost!
6 days later and this hasn’t aged too well has it.

Do we think we’re going to find 3rd or 4th in a 2 horse race?
So it's 2nd best now. Your point? We have had a crap week after going months unbeaten.
I think we'll still get 2nd but in all honesty it doesn't matter about placing as we have secured CL next year. It's about going all out for the trophy, and has to be really.

Didn't watch entire match but in general our problem is we have to play with six defenders.

Fred, Lindelof and Maguire are not good enough so we need 4 players (incl McTominay) instead of 3.

This then means 1 less attacking player.

We effectively play a group of 6 and a group of 4, rarely playing as a unit.

Genuinely don't see the appeal of Fred. Only looks half decent now and again because he's been so awful for so long and any improvement would be noticeable.

Impossible position. Caused by those idiots.

I might have played the first 11 against Leicester and rested people tonight. But no good solutions.

My point is that at the end of the season only one stat really matters and that’s who has the most points.

The rest of it is just about pride and we seem to have given up on that. I can accept the Leicester result, in fact I didn’t actually mind it, as I thought we’d be well up for tonight. Tonight was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

Having Matic as a back up to Fred isn't helpful when you need to dig in..
Couple more faces in the centre of midfield and defense rather than Matic and Mata as options over summer hopefully. Not sure we'll buy any attackers now.

Time at least for a regroup before next match after cramming 3 in a week. McGuire get well soon!

Be careful. Aston80 is back on here and he gets easily offended by the use of multiple asterisks, or any suggestion that the protests were idiotic.

To be fair to your keeper if he comes out he thinks Salah has a side pass for a tap in, think that’s why he had to stay back

Henderson has bigged himself up (or the press have really) and he was shocking and not for the first time recently. Salah ran from the centre circle and by the time he shot for goal, Henderson was in his own six-yard box. Just awful ‘technique’!

Always a sickener loosing to our biggest rivals.
Still a big big decision looming for the final, and Ole will get hammered if a goalkeeping error costs us the game on the night regardless of who he picks.
I thought Henderson had been mainly good this season and has taken his chance well. DDG is still a stunning keeper on the day.

fk me, some right moaning going on in here biggrin

We played st, yes, the whole team did but it's pretty clear that we've taken our foot off the gas and the edge has gone now we've secured top 4.

Not helped by the fact Ole put Rashford on the right again when ever man and his dog knows he's no good there and has a good record 1v1 against Trent. Greenwood has been on fire so I'd have started him. Fred....jesus don't get me started on him. He cost us two goals last night and is a terrible player on the ball.

Shows how important and what a good player Maguire is imo.

We need a 6 and right winger this summer.

We are linked (as usual) with some interesting players and Ole is talking publicly about recruitment and pushing on to try to challenge city. Hopeful it happens in summer and not last minute for once.
