I’m not sure about the amount of midfield players we seem to be chasing, Rice is in there too and I just can’t see Ole moving away from 2 defensive midfielders, so it’s a case of trying to find a spot for Pogba (or Ronaldo), Bruno, DVB, Rice, Sancho, Grealish, as well as Cani, Rashford and Greenwood. I know they won’t all play every game and I know there’s the subs to consider, but can’t see big money players wanting to sit on the bench. Not everyone has the patience that DVB has shown.
I still struggle with Rashford being the future. He’s six years in and at that point you’d think he’s developed into the player he’s going to be, although I accept that at 23 he’s still got a lot of time ahead of him
Greenwood excites me a lot. I want to see him kick on next season, as he really could be something special.
I’m not convinced that Cavani and Ronaldo are teachers as such. Players may learn off them and that might be enough, but forwards are by definition selfish
Reading that back it seems like I’m disagreeing with everything. I hope it reads better than that though, it’s more about a note of caution. I certainly agree we aren’t going to be winning the PL any time soon, but worry that we chase it with ageing players rather than building the foundations for potential longer term success.
I think with Cavani and Ronaldo, they show younger players exactly what a top professional football should do on the pitch. Both have looked after themselves physically, and on the pitch you cannot fault there work ethic. Cavani was running past our midfielders in the final to make a defensive tackle. I think as Cavani is staying Ronaldo won’t be coming. I still struggle with Rashford being the future. I’m not English so couldn’t give a flying fudge about players missing out on international duty. I’d rather they all just had the summer off and came back rested. Rashford could do with a good rest too!

Just been watching that BBC Ronaldo documentary. Sorry if it’s been shown before and I missed it, but they seem to have air-brushed the controversy out of his transfer to Real Madrid. Sir Alex said “Do you think I would get into a contract with that mob? Jesus Christ, I wouldn’t sell them a virus”.

Sancho news seems to be gathering a fair bit of momentum. I think it'll happen this summer.
Hopefully we can get it agreed before the Euros (for his mental state and focus more than anything) and complete the medical after the Euros. Clauses for injury during the Euros in there too etc..
Would be over the moon with him and Verane this summer tbh and if we can get Trippier for under 15 million then I wouldn't complain at that either!

If there was a choice between Sancho and Grealish I would take Grealish all day. Such a good player, and you can tell he is one player people hate to play against.
