I agree he makes the France team tick, and provides that creativity in midfield. He does the same for United but not as much. I do think there is a couple of reasons for that:

1. International football is played at a much slower pace than prem football allowing you the time and space to dictate play.

2. They have Kante. The best defensive midfielder in the world. That guy covers so much ground and allows Pogba to do what he does best.

The issue I think we all have is Pogbas inconsistent performances. He is not someone you can rely on week in week out to provide a 8/10 performance. Compared to someone like Bruno is like chalk and cheese. Yes Bruno has had off games, but you can hang your hat that he gives 100% each game.

Next season do we sell Pogba and use the money to invest in the squad, or do we offer him a bumper contract and potentially have the same issues we have had for the last 4 years.

I love him as a player, but is he right for us at the moment?
Pogba has been at least as consistent as Bruno in the last few months. Bruno has had a lot of very average games. He always tries, though - fair point.

I think Bruno is just knackered, he played a few games where really he should have been rested.

I think that’s probably right. He did look tired.

Nah, aren’t we buying my 14 other defenders anyway.

My thoughts too. I do love his speed and energy but there's no point in having that if you're no good at doing anything with the ball at the end of a run.

Get used to playing with 10 if you do go for him. He’s only been sent off 26 times.

Not surprised Bruno was knackered in the last few months. He was involved in 55 games last season, where as Pogba was involved in 40.

We play with 10 when lindelof is on the pitch anyway?

Buying geriatrics was never the United Way previously...the odd one like Cavani maybe but don't load the team with them.

This is why I’ve never understood the obsession with Sterling. A few hot patches of form aside, he’s been as likely to run off the pitch as achieve anything.

I wasn’t suggesting it. I was waiting for someone else to. Every time a player either has a good half hour or becomes available then someone on here suggests we buy them. That’s why I think we’re playing a very fluid 17-23-8 formation next season.

…and Phil Jones would still struggle to get in the lineup! biggrin

And you'd still only draw 1-1 with a newly promoted team having gone behind early on! biggrin

I've seen it suggested in more than one place elsewhere. You might as well retire the position for as long as he has a contract.

And that would be a dodgy penalty given in the 197th minute after the other team have already left the ground biglaugh

Watching the NL game last night, Memphis was looking good, am I’m thinking “why did Utd let him go?”
Then he missed an open goal …..

Yes, didn't look like he had improved to me.
Watching him just underlined the frustrations I had with his play when he was with us.
Similar to Anthony Martial.

Good to see Blind doing OK.

I think he has defiantly improved as a player from his time at United. When he came to us he has the next big thing and it all went to his head. Plus the premiership is more demanding and your mistakes get found out. Plus when Jose came it was never going to work.

When he went to Lyon he got more a free role and it allowed him to become a much better player. That's why potentially he will be going to one of the big clubs like Barca etc.
