Rice in Lingard out
Wonder how that will affect our chances of getting Lingard back?
Can't harm them. Personally, I would say he should be in the squad if Southgate picks players on form not reputation. But, it keeps him out of the 'shop window' as they say so in that respect good but I feel for him because I got the feeling he genuinely wanted to play.

Keeps him out of the shop window for a few weeks (although appears set to play vs. Austria tomorrow).
Watch him get injured now ..
And subsequently secure a four year, Club record deal.

Rice and Lingard to start.

Let’s hope Rice has a decent first half then comes off at half time sub

What is the point in starting LIngard if your not taking him to the tournament?

One injury/Positive Covid test he'll be in the squad.
I'd be very surprised big he doesn't figure in the tournament.

So Alexander-Arnold is probably out so who will replace him?

I’ll be relieved to hear when/if Moyes signs his contract. Everton are sniffing around.

From the business section of today’s Sunday Times, not somewhere I was expecting to read about Tomas Repka:-

See Tevez has stepped down as Boca captain and left the club, stating he is burnt out. Apparently "retired" .

Played to 37 - that's some going, and across all of the clubs & for the argies; his best goals to games record was at WHUFC (1:3.7) biggrin

Apparently we have a deal to sign a french youth player from Chelsea. Midfielder Ekwah, signed for Chelsea for £2m last year, no idea on transfer fee at the moment.

Sounds fine to me; I can't see Sullivan allowing Moyes to go elsewhere and I can't really see Moyes wanting to go to Everton. It's not like it's his home club or anything, he's Scottish. Win, win for us.

I hope you’re right but don’t understand the delay in Moyes signing his contract.

Looks like Moyes has signed, with a remit to extend his back room staff. Imagine he was negotiating a number of things taking us into Europe and what was needed to enable him to have the chance to succeed. Announcement due next week

If it's sorted he can spend the next couple of weeks watching Croatia, Czech & maybe Slovakia in the Euro's with an eye for next seasons recruitments.
