Nice little piece on Bobby Z playing a one-off for his mate's 7-a-side team smile

Nice to see Jayden Fevrier sign his first pro contract at the club. My lad was in the same squad a few years back. A nice lad from a nice family, great to see.

News report doing the rounds that the board tried to activate Rices one year extension by offer more money but offered him less than what Yarmo and Anderson get so he’s turned it down…

If they want to keep him and build around him they have to do better than that, hes a regular starter for England now.

Suspect they want to cash in on him asap.

How can there be the option of a one year extension if the player can turn it down?

It's meaningless.

I don't think they want to cash in on him asap at all - I suspect that its more a case of them knowing he will be off at some point (and I don't think there is a WH fan in the land that doesn't understand this is what will happen), so by getting an extra year on his contract means he is likely to cost any buyer more.

I'm just hoping that he stays for next season and we have a half-decent Europa League run - he'll be off after that and he would go with my best wishes and a big thank-you. I think most of us (supporters) would be the same.

Whilst I agree with you, this is the problem with being a West Ham supporter, you are conditioned from day one to accept that the best players will go to a 'bigger club'. The supporters believe it, therefore journalists repeat it and the players know it. I guess this will never change because even when we had Hurst, Moore and Peters, we were seen as a selling club or a rest home for ex-Spurs and Arsenal players.

See The Sun has had to retract its story about the Rice contract situation. Not two offers turned down, no Yarma wage comparison.

Interestingly ExWHUEmployee who basically thinks he has some sort of inside knowledge yet the 284 players he has said we are signing over the last month haven't come to fruition went to ground when the club went after him/her.

Did you see the liverpool echo's completely unbiased ratings of the players last night. I really havent laughed so much for a while what an absolutely deluded piece of journalism. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/foo...

5 and 6 for Rice and Phillips respectively who have through the tournament kept clean sheets only conceding to a freekick they could do nothing about. But a mighty 7 for Henderson who came on and ran about a bit for 20 minutes. Absolutely hilarious.

It was a 5 earlier today lol they must have edited it https://www.hammers.news/club-news/west-ham-fans-a... if you look here you can see the screen grabs

So this is even better, the jokers realise just how stupid they look and try to repair the damage and just make themselves even more ridiculous. You couldnt make it up.

Can’t be arsed with the England /Euro thread bit how do we feel
about it all?
Throughly deserve to be in the final but hated the dive that helped us get there. Never ever a penalty, but then I remember the Hand of God,Simeone with Becks and Lampards non goal, so maybe it’s our time. You could also say the decision for the Danes free kick was soft, and having to win their third group game their first goal came from a corner that wasn’t.
The excitable Pickford had been calm til last night, had a couple of freak out moments but that free kick was unstoppable at that pace on the wall side.
Rice other than a 15 minute period at the start of the Germany has been utterly brilliant all tournament.Philips seems to have grown in stature, Stones seems to be the perfect foil for Maguire, Sterling and Kane are becoming Son and Kane. The end of extra time last night where we kept the ball for 52 passes was something I never thought I’d see our national team do.
I’ll always love my club more than the national team, couple that with the dive and maybe that’s why I don’t feel quite as excited as I should do today….

Rice has really impressed. I said earlier, he, Stones, Maguire and Walker have been proper old school, not flash just there, calm, collected fuss free. Like Adams or Butcher used to be. Great basis to build a team around.

Very much this.
I`ve been effing busy peddling booze from behind the cricket club bar.

These events are a free hit for clubs like us, stick a big screen up, fill the cellar with beer and the cash rolls in. We`re several grand up and counting.

The result goes our way Sunday and it will be an all nighter, I`ll be taking my LeMans camping gear to crash at the club.

Finally we appear to have got things right at a tournament - play your best football at the business end not at the start.
Honestly never thought I`d see England get to a major final and can`t quite believe it`s happening TBH.

Rice has been rock solid and has the chance to put his name alongside those we know so well from all those years ago.

Go to it young man, now`s the time, now is the time.
