I thought you also remember us beating Preston NE in '64?
I do, and I'll not say sadly...
No I don’t remember that one. I was 9 in 1965 and allowed to stay up late to watch the match on tv. Bearing in mind it black & white tv only why on earth did they use a brown ball??? I do, and I'll not say sadly...
In 1964 I was 15 years old. I had a little reel to reel tape recorder I used to record the pop chart programme on. I put the radio and the microphone under the carpet in my bedroom in case someone came in making a lot of noise!
I clearly recall recording the Preston cup final radio commentary like this, and listening to it again afterwards several times. In glorious recorded technicolour!

Scamacca has looked like a proper striker since his first game for us.
Can't help but wonder where we'd be now if we'd played this midfield and attack (with Rice instead of Soucek) all season. They'd have had a chance to gel. Even in this one game you can see their understanding developing.

In fairness as a 58 year old ex keeper I’d look good in our midfield tonight with the amount of time they’re being given. Can't help but wonder where we'd be now if we'd played this midfield and attack (with Rice instead of Soucek) all season.
