Will be interesting to see our starting eleven first game of next season.
No Paq or Kudus would be my bet.
Paq to City.
Kudus to Liverpool.
What is so disappointing with West Ham is that we never keep hold of better players. We seem to find them and lose them every time. I remember in the early 2000's you could almost field an entire England team of ex-Hammers. No Paq or Kudus would be my bet.

We joke about the Sky Six but what do we have to do to keep players like Tevez, Payet, Rice, Paqueta, Kudos etc.
Based in London with a big ground is it just down to having a dynamic young manager and coaching team or will it never happen?

CL's the draw for these players & given how good Rice (as an example) is, it's not surprising that he left - price was something of a steal though, bearing in mind how much Caicedo was sold for & how their respective seasons have panned out.
Paq likely similar, Kudus, Bowen & Alvarez maybe in the future, they are all good enough to play at the highest level - that we've had them & can attract them in the first place shows that we're doing something right.
Tevez was particularly frustrating as we didn't see enough of him actually playing for the Club (even less of Mascherano). Tevez was never going to be long term though.
From the Club's perspective we're a bit stuck as upper-mid table & the financial nonsense contrives to kill the ability to grow/challenge, although we've given it a decent go recently (notwithstanding last seasons league finish) - bear in mind that our average PL position is 10th & our lifetime average league position's somewhat lower than that (maybe 14th).
Few things are clear though, IMO. The Club needs to significantly improve is commercial aspect - see spuds & how well they do. Academy players need to be churned through & sold if they aren't considered likely to make it, rather than lose them on FT's.
Sully needs to be kept away from his vanity signings/punts on unknown's - hopefully Steiden will have some control here. Ideally sully needs to fk off & take the brady bunch with him - she ought to be chinned off asap.
We need to stop resorting to signing expensive players that don't fit our system (Ings, Scamma, Haller etc, etc). We need a larger squad with decent cover for key positions - Philips has turned out to be a shambles, but signing him as cover for Alvarez was sensible (although we should have had cover in place before).
TLDR, COYI!!!
It has been another very mixed season for sure. Last year winning the ECL somewhat papered over the cracks of a woeful league campaign.
This season more of the same really, early domestic cup exits, a reasonable run in Europe, and a rather fortuitous league position thanks to some strong wins in 2023, plenty of other teams messing up around us such as Newcastle and Chelsea etc. The fear is if those teams sort their act out, we will be comfortably bottom half. The race really is on who can sort out some consistency at the respective clubs quickest.
I don't think Moyes will stay, and even though I think his management (looking outside in) has been bang average at best in terms of tactics and being able to influence games with changes, that said I don't think anyone really wants to work somewhere they are not wanted.
Who knows whats happened behind the scenes ... I am again guessing but there is probably a fair bit of power grabbing going on. Any manager would want a big squad to work with, so the players leaving and not replaced would have been financial reasons. That said, Moyes didn't seem to do a very good job of keeping squad morale up for those on the fringes, and he doesn't blood youngsters and makes it a dead end club to be at for them. Yes Rice made it, but he was a generational talent, many others that could become good squad players, will never see the light of day.

In my mind I can't see much happening until Sullivan sells up and the new shareholders buy the stadium. Ownership of the stadium would allow for alterations to make it into a proper football stadium. With a top notch young manager we could spring on from there. I had hoped that perhaps Sulli' would sell up when David Gold died but that doesn't seem to be in his plans.

If you have 1 star player, he’s not going to hang around for 6 or 7 years until you build a team around him. Players have a short career, they want to climb the ladder as quickly as they can and it helps if it’s supported by a big wage.
