I’m thinking Moyes will go at the end of the season, most on here will be happy with that.
As they say, be careful what you wish for...

I don't think it's unreasonable to go to matches and be entertained which is what I wish for. That has been few and far between for too long now. Of course it's going to be a big risk but I can't take another season of defensive football, especially when all we have to show for it is the 4th worst defence in the league laugh

I think it's time for him to go. I hope his successor brings more entertaining football, but I'd be amazed if he brings better results.

And that’s a fair point
Just shows though, how bad it’s got when we might accept that.

You're top half of the league.

Things can get much, much worse. Believe me.

First order of the day is survival. I don't see WHU being able to attract good enough players consistently enough on the budget you have.

Which managers do you think are going to come in and have you playing like Man City?

I look forward to the day you guys are playing attacking, balls out football, get relegated and hear the moaning then biggrin

(Though if there were a league table of most entitled fans, you guys would be up there battling it out with Man Utd and Everton in the top 3!).

I guess it depends on what time period and competition you are looking at when you say results.
If we are looking at the last 21 matches it would take a monumental effort by any replacement to be that bad...lol

Yeah I know!

If we'd had this conversation 4 months ago we'd have been celebrating going 6th after beating Man U.

I reckon our benchmark is to finish above at least one of Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa, Spurs, Man U. We didn't manage that last year and I don't think we will this year so au revoir Moyes.

I think our benchmark should be a points total really, and positional finish. Certainly last season and this, have been down on the seasons prior to them.

I think sometimes managers just run out of ideas and steam, the top elite managers can be dynamic and adapt systems. I think the club has run its course as a partnership with Moyes, I think they need to shake hands, remember the good times, and part ways to try something new.

17 years on and it's clearly still eating you up that your team got relegated in 2007. rofl

This is worth a clap

250 PL games for Antonio @ the weekend (and a goal). Puts him third in WH PL appearances (behind Nobes & Cress).

(And yes, replacement/cover should've have been signed etc, etc)

I’d quite happily finish 17th being entertained on a Saturday afternoon, rather than watching us defend at home against Sheffield United late on a Sunday afternoon to finish 10th.

Indeed it does and I've always liked Antonio's style. That said, it does annoy me that it's as if football began with the Premier League. 250 is nothing when compared to the likes of Brooking, Moore, Lampard, all with 600+ games and, especially, Billy Bonds with 799 eek

Ant's joint 34th (all appearances) - still a very decent return, although 250 sounds better.

Nobes is sixth (38th all time PL).

However neither Cresswell or Noble ever predicted that we’d finish above Arsenal .

West Ham have the 8th highest net spend in the premier league of the last five years. I would say if you are arguing spend levels and league positions, draw from that what you will. All the above is a parroting of the media nonsense WHU fans have to put up with.

No one is saying we would go out the blocks and play open attacking football against City or Liverpool away. No one is saying we will play week in week out like City. Thats just stupid. This is all rubbish made up by the media, and some fall for it hook line and sinker.

But, is it too much to expect a bit more than a low block each game regardless of the opposition and our strategy being bringing on a right back in midfield and a past it striker coming on in the 95th minute every game. Its not a big ask. Really it isnt.

You've won a European title and are 8th (currently).

It's very fine margins at this level. Preferring to finish 17th but be entertained is easily said. What about 18th?

Moyes makes some odd decisions at times. And that net spend figure is surprising. But who do you guys think is going to do better?

Being careful what you wish for was never so pertinent.

8th leading club by financial revenue and 8th in the league. Sounds reasonable.
