Best to just ignore their fake indignation. We won the FA Cup in Saturday, and are still in with a chance of a historic quad or cup treble… yet here we are arguing with the envious about things they don’t really care about.
No surprise the majority are from the club who are perennial losers.

Southampton aren't just going to roll over. And I can't imagine City not smashing Villa regardless.
My thoughts haven't changed. 6 points from our last 2 games and relying on Villa to beat City is unlikely. Be a great surprise if it happens but I'm really not expecting it.originals said:

No question. The strength of the opposition, length of season and number of games sees to that.originals said:

40 years ago? So it should be forgotten about? Hillsborough was in the 80's too. You think that's going to be forgotten about?
You didn't think Liverpool had ever been treated badly or differently by the establishment.
I showed you it had.
You spending a weekend there doesn't change that. Glad you had a nice time though.
But as I said earlier, don't ever rely on a football crowd to do the right thing.
Nobody said anything about forgetting Hillsborough. Thankfully the truth prevailed in the end.You didn't think Liverpool had ever been treated badly or differently by the establishment.

You showed me a 40 year old news article which has turned out to be wrong. As I see it Liverpool has been treated very well indeed, better than most other cities.
As I said Liverpool seems to be carrying a big collective chip on it’s shoulder. Your posts reiterate that.
The article is not wrong. You just know nothing about the City, but think you do because you spent a weekend there.
Oh and the article is 11 years old. You can't even get that right so do you expect us to heed anything else you spout?
I shall not respond to you further.
I don’t pretend to know much about the city but like most people I was very disappointed at your fans at the Cup Final.

And we are all devastated you feel that way....I don’t pretend to know much about the city but like most people I was very disappointed at your fans at the Cup Final.
(Hopefully that removes any chip on your shoulder you got from some fans booing a song)
Anyway, moving on. Be interesting what side we put out Vs Southampton.
Does Gomez and konate get a go or do we play Matip? Surely Robbo sits out and is bobby fit enough to start with Diaz and Mane?

I'd go Tsimikas, Matip, Gomez & Milner at the back. Jones, Keita and Ox in the middle, Firmino, Origi and Jota up front. There's an opportunity for Minamino to get a go in midfield too. Maybe a link between Jones & Keita and whatever front 3 we have out. Could even pull Milner into midfield, stick Jones at RB and have Rhys Williams in the back line. I'd want us to go hard first 30 and try and get the game won. originals said:
The man on street has little time for, or anything in common with, Princes or Dukes. It's not the first time a dignitary has been booed by a crowd.
It's not exclusive to Liverpool either, although there are still scars from the Thatcher governments treatment of the city and Hillsborough cover ups etc so there is perhaps more anti establishment feelings than elsewhere
Don't ever rely on a football crowd to do the right thing.
Booing the Royal family isn't the right thing to do. I understand the history but if you don’t agree just keep quiet, don’t boo IMVHO
But then I’m not a local so don’t feel the same animosity
Mostly the same for me, although it’s also easier to say when you don’t know people who died due to a mess in the organisation of a game, and then a hit campaign against the victims/people trying to expose it. But then I’m not a local so don’t feel the same animosity
I’m also shocked that quote a few flagging this are happy with a racist supporter poster on their thread:

I remember going to London as a young kid with my parents, I was probably 7 or 8 years old, and I remember my dad saying to my mum “We’ve got them under control where we live, but they’re everywhere down here”. He was talking about Black people.
Those comments, and others like them, have never left me. I remember even as an 8 year old being shocked by what was said.

Maybe being so young you misinterpreted?
I remember my Dad watching Ali vs Holmes boxing and someone asked him who he wanted to win and he replied he didn't really care so long as a darkie gets a hiding. My Dad would repeat the exact same joke with our West Indian neighbours to howls of laughter and would get ribbed back mercilessly in return.
We have all got very sensitive and soft.

Klopps comments today in his press conference on the subject are good but not fully right.
He talks about there being a reason and that people should ask the question as to why the boos. The issue though, is that they have to listen to the answer and accept that it's a learning opportunity for them.
As we have seen in this thread, and not just on this incident, many who come in to ask why, don't really want the answer. They just want to make digs.
