Lose a couple of games in that month and that’s pretty much the season over as far as the league is concerned.
I take it back pinch Last year we lost 2 games all season. City lost 3.
Given our large wage bill I don’t know if we have lots of extra money to sign someone on a short term basis - at least not someone who is much good. Anyone good will
Already be signed up, and playing first team football.

(The bigger problem for me - well actually Klopp - will be next season when he will have to sign at least 2 midfielders minimum to replace Ox and Milner and if Keita continues business-as-usual this season, you can make that 3 unless Morton or Bajectic really do shine this year).
I’m pretty sure we will have a serious pitch at Bellingham for next season.(The bigger problem for me - well actually Klopp - will be next season when he will have to sign at least 2 midfielders minimum to replace Ox and Milner and if Keita continues business-as-usual this season, you can make that 3 unless Morton or Bajectic really do shine this year).
Losing Ox doesn’t make any difference as he hasn’t really played for 2 seasons.
We have one senior midfielder that we can count on to be around and contributing at a high level for the next 3 seasons - Fab.
Likely to be Milner’s last season, Hendo can’t manage the games anymore and Thiago is 31 and picks up a lot of injuries and knocks.
It’s a bit early to make a call on Eliot and Carvalho, but so far, neither Keita or Jones have shown they are able to step up to the level we want/need.
Hendo is the biggest one to replace…
By doing nothing this window we are creating an even bigger problem for 12 months time… when we will need at least 2, if not 3 senior midfielders… which creates a secondary challenge as they all have to integrated in to the plating system at the same time.
Bellingham isn’t going to come to us… he’s seen his mates sign massive contracts… no way are we paying a teenager £300k/wk like Harland and Sancho. We won’t pay half that for someone his age. Fantasy.
I hear wages mentioned as a reason we can’t invest now… what’s the data source for this? The club is the richest it’s ever been. If we can’t invest now we never will be able to.

Looking across the stats sites for last season, Hendo started 29 and was a sub in 6 of the 38 PL games. 2602 minutes (which equals 74 minutes a game over 35 games).
On top of playing 5 games in each of the cup comps and 12 CL games.
More than any season since 14/15. Granted the season before he played half as many but he's hardly an invalid.

So let me get this right. Brighton have been raided this summer and sold arguably their 2 best players. Yet are beating United. At the Theatre of Dreams?
