He's already had a dig, good riddance then!
"I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project," Wijnaldum said.
That's hardly a dig - PSG ARE one of the best squads in Europe. And so are we. So are City, Bayern, etc."I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project," Wijnaldum said.
He ws quoted a few months back that he really would be gutted if he had to leave. I suspect though it was entirely money and length of contract. He gets a huge signing on fee from going elsewhere - we were never going to replicate that, or match anything like what PSG will pay him every week.
Yea, I really see no issue with what he's said. He's hardly going to join PSG and say that he hopes they'll one day be as big a club as Liverpool.
He was a huge part of the success we've enjoyed over the past few years. Whatever his reasons for leaving, nothing will change that. I wish him all the best.

I wouldn't call that a dig. "I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project," Wijnaldum said.
I know we take the piss out of a cold night in Stoke but the French league really is League 1 standard below mid table.

Jesus some people, how on earth is that a dig? "I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project," Wijnaldum said.
He has said nothing against Liverpool whilst complimenting his new employer. Which any sensible employee would do. And made a true statement.
Any player that is not English, that wins CL and PL with us (so has lived the dream), and has one last lucrative roll of the dice would be daft not to consider a change of scene, especially if the likes of Barca and PSG are sniffing.
An article here about MND. As most of us probably know, ex Red Stephen Darby suffers from MND - there's a moving "1 year on" interview with him, Doddie Weir (Rugby Union) and Rob Burrows (Rugby League) who also have the disease, on the page.

In a world where no one sees out a contract I admire him for it.
I think he was pretty clear he wanted to stay, too, but the club wouldn't pay up.He's not forced a move, he's not fked about, I can't think of many negatives during his stay but can remember him making massive contributions.
I'm intrigued what the transfer committee has up its sleeve to replace him (and others).

Seriously?"I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project," Wijnaldum said.
That's a statement straight from the PSG media team. Isn't it the same thing we'd expect to hear from a player joining Liverpool?
Really disappointed Gini has gone as the lad was a model pro... Always played with a smile on his face.. never injured and always gave 110 per cent.
I believe he wanted a longer contract as he is getting on a bit 'in pro terms' and I believe we should have given him the extra 12 months or so that he
wanted, Personally don't think the lad has a bad bone in his body and I will take any negative comments with a pinch of salt, He was a key player for us in
our Premier / Champs league success (particularly Barca at home and many more Man City header at Xmas spring to mind) Overall underated player
who will be greatly missed probably more than we realise right now. Anyway onwards and upwards.
Mental money but good for him. Would he really have stayed with us on our £125k offer if we made it 3 years not 2?
“ Liverpool's highest paid player is believed to earning around £200,000-a-week, but a report in Dutch publication De Telegraaf suggests Wijnaldum will earn €10 million per year after tax at PSG, which is worth around £8.6 million, which equates to £165,000-a-week.
Wages are not normally reported after tax and if that was translated into a full salary in England, Liverpool would have needed to pay Wijnaldum around £310,000-a-week to match the offer PSG have reportedly made to him.”
