He came to the PL with massive hype and did nothing, if it happens again we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.
Passed me by as I'd never heard of him. He also got injured twice while on his 12 match spell, apparently. According to wiki.I think Klopp and co know more about player selection than anyone here, ultimately so I can't really see the point in negativity before its even been confirmed we're going for him.
This whole Salah and the Olympics affair still seems to be simmering away. I just hope Liverpool's refusal to release him doesnt affect him - he has a history of becoming moody (see Trent being handed the captaincy instead of him) - we all need a happy Mo going into the new season, certainly with no other thoughts or feelings. The Olympics only comes around once a lifetime and you only can imagine how disappointed he must be.

Without wanting to be that person every 4 years normally! But yes, maybe 2-3 times in a player's career. And it depends how Salah views it if it becomes a big issue. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/africa/57722008

After spending big and that spending bringing success it seems like we're heading back towards the liverpool of old.
We paid world record fees for VVD and Alisson and it won us the PL and CL (let's not forget the CWC)
The prospect of us doing similar now feels virtually non-existent.
Long way to go yet, Euros will delay signings, realistically across Europe we have signed Sancho and PSG and Barca have signed some players on a freeWe paid world record fees for VVD and Alisson and it won us the PL and CL (let's not forget the CWC)

Also in the Covid world and looking at Real and Barca issues you may not need to break records, if you got someone like Sanches for 30-40m and he kicks on people will be citing your recruitment once again, I think you could get 2-3 decent players in for under 100m
I agree with Keyser. Plus, we don't need to be paying world record fees. Back then it was obviously we had a big gap at centre back and a big gap in goal. We HAD to pay world record fees to get the players we wanted.
Right now we simply don't have big gaps any where in the squad (baring injuries). We just need strength in depth. And due to the pandemic (AND we've just started work on a £60m new stand) we're simply not going to go out and spend big on new players.

I doubt there will be many clubs spending big this year.
Doesn’t have to be many for us to be looking at 4th or worse:United buy Sancho and another
City buy Kane and doubtless more
Chelsea a couple
Of course we all hope the injury situation improves but we need depth and not weak depth

I think Chelsea will be strong this year under Tuchel regardless of their transfer dealings!
I suspect that's true. Tuchel made a huge difference in the time he had last season. On that showing, he's one of the top 3 managers in the PL at the moment alongside Pep and Klopp. Utd's weakness is that Ole isn't at that same level, I think.Yea, I'd agree with that. But Ole certainly seems to be muddling through. I suspect Utd will be well up there this season, beating a lot of lower placed teams but maybe becoming a little stuck against better managers. Sancho is a great addition, but I think there are still questions about their defence and goalkeeper.

They underperformed last year in the league, it's unlikely that'll happen again. Without being all doom and gloom it's going to be a hell of a fight to finish above the 2 Manchester teams, let alone Chelsea.

United were more of a counter-attacking team, so they struggled to break down the lower teams as they sat back and didn't go at United. A bit like us under Rafa. Dropped silly points, but did well against clubs like City etc.34 players going to LFC's pre season training camp in Austria...including...Virgil and Gomez. Good news.

Also on the training camp is Harvey Elliott - who's just put his signature on a new contract, which is good news.

He looks like one decent prospect that might make it, fingers crossed. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/07/harvey-ellio...
