Brighton are a quality team. De Zerbi has got them playing some fantastic football. Saw the first half against Chelsea and they were totally and utterly dominant at Stamford Bridge. No surprise they won the game. Sold off Caicedo, Trossard and Bissouma and lost Potter too - yet still punching for 4th whilst playing some superb football. Really hope they do it.

Just goes to show you don't need to buy superstar players, just those with the exact qualities you want to work in the managers system.
I think Brighton have some superstar players. The difference is that their scouts find them before they're recognised as superstars.Adam. said:

It’s all well and good scouting those kind of players, but they’ll be gifted much more time at a Brighton to develop where are a big club if they’re not cutting it after 5 games it’s a different story, fans want them off etc.
A very good pointjammy-git said:
I feel like we're one of the more patient "big" clubs. Suarez was given patience and support in his first season when he was hitting the woodwork left right and centre. Nunez has shown effort and flashes of real quality and has also been rewarded with patience despite his lack of goals.
Maybe. There's still an awful lot of abuse aimed at the team generally. Quite a lot of experience for a 20 year old. Decent physical stature and "hardly loses the ball".

Also says he doesn’t work hard off the ball so not a chance. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2023/04/who-is-ryan-...
Didn’t Keita come with all these ringing endorsements and ball carrying. That worked out well.

I love how TIA say (as fact) "LFC have stepped up their interest in recent days" before going on to say "according to <journo> at The Times". https://www.thisisanfield.com/2023/04/who-is-ryan-...
Meh!

Well, if we are going to get another duffer, might aswell be cheaper. Progress! No doubt we're going to be linked to every midfielder with legs between now and August. Didn’t Keita come with all these ringing endorsements and ball carrying. That worked out well.
My bigger question would be: Why have we not appointed a sporting director yet? What incentive does Julian Ward have right now? I'd say none. Just pluck a few names and move on.
