I'm a bit surprised and concerned that we haven't had much incoming transfer business this summer. I know all the returns from injuries will be like new signings after last season but still can't help like feeling we should be strengthening the midfield and forwards. Especially with the signings City, Chelsea United have been making this summer.
We seem to have 9 midfielders - I think we're covered there. Thiago will show what he can do this season I think. Him, Hendo and Fab will be a decent midfield. And Jota will surely kick on I think this season. Salah and Mane have had a month off and should be more rested than they've been in years. Minamino may or may not be more used to the PL I guess but has looked sharp in pre season. Elliott will be a good option for something different - although granted, he probably won't hit his peak for a few years yet. Plus Klopp is looking at Ox as an alternative in Bobby's "false 9" role.
I wouldn't say no to some new blood but I'm not really thinking "oh God, we really need new players" either. Looking forward to how we bounce back from such a weird season.

Since Klopp arrived that's our normal position, well lack of buying that is.Not surprised and not worried as ultimately we have been a team of development with the odd big purchase thrown in there.
It's going to feel like a new team if all our last season injuries return and stay fit and we won't need time to work each out.

It's expected TBH. The year we spent big was a one off.
Normality is City, Utd and Chelsea spending the big bucks with us picking up 2nd or 3rd tier priced players and hoping we get a Torres or Suarez.
It's a shame as we've proved the one time you spend some money it gets results.
Utd spend huge sums almost every season - it's not exactly bought them silverware recently. If you have a combination of money and a top manager (Chelsea had Jose, who WAS, at the time, while Citeh have Pep). that's perhaps the best guarantee of trophies.
I don't think you need to spend huge sums every year if your recruitment is good, personally.

I know Utd fans are scoffing at Chelsea paying £100m for Lukaku but he does make them stronger and will guarantee goals.
He could be their next Drogba.
Utd have done good business too, although it won't be enough to improve on last years PL placing.
We will probably be fighting Leicester for 4th, Fofana is going to be a big miss for them though and Vardy isn't getting any younger either.

The video you've all been waiting for...the pre season table tennis tournament...

Nice to see the camaraderie in the camp.

Lukaku has career figures wherever he goes of scoring more than 1 in 3 games so he's decent. Chelsea were sure Warner was the big thing last time. He could be their next Drogba.

I'd be more worried about how good their manager is. Tuchel is very decent, as he showed in turning Chelsea around within weeks last season (helped by us imploding somewhat). If he can stay on good terms with the Chelsea owners they will be stronger PL contenders than they have been for a while.
I think we will be fighting them and Citeh for the top 3. I can see Utd getting 4th. I honestly think we will be top 2. Depends how many injuries we get but I'm looking forward to a good season again.
How did Keita look? Was he as sharp as in previous games. Robbo's injury doesn't sound good. Tsimikas may get his chance to impress for a period of time perhaps? Looks likely that Elliott may stay and be part of the first team squad this season, rather than being loaned?
Surprised we have such a short turnaround with another game tomorrow - purely from a muscle recovery stand point - even if Klopp makes a few changes.

Very likely to be a totally different team. The commentary mentioned Salah not having scored in pre season - suggestion being he won't be playing again tomorrow. Keita and Mane linked well for Jota's goal, from the bit I saw. I remember Mane being really keen for Keita to join Liverpool as they are good mates and played well together. Hopefully a bit of that this season.
