Cos the players will all be isolating once we’ve been knocked out at 10 o’clock tonight anyway. FA probably more worried about an outbreak lasting a few weeks than us hehe

It seems the reason why Mount & Chilwell are self-isolating is nothing to do with the post-match on-the-field stuff with Gilmour. It's to do with a 25 minute conversation they had in the tunnel area after the game. There's always been this 15 minute "limit" on being near to other people that if you exceed it, it increases your risk of infection. So Steve Clarke's hug, everyone's hugs for Gilmour in fact, don't count but the England pair spent too long with him.

Not my rules, but that's how I'm reading them.
OK, well that makes a tiny bit more sense I suppose. But does that mean that no other Scotland players have been near Gilmour for any 15 minute period in the Scotland "bubble" then? He must be a really lonely bloke!
...or very close contact for an unspecified but much shorter period.

I don't think it's THAT bad really. You can be two metres from someone and still have a conversation, a laugh, etc but you just have to think about getting closer for longer. Even celebrating a goal (albeit Scotland haven't scored yet), you're only going to get "too close" for 30 seconds, maximum one minute and then you move away.

No one really wanted VAR in the first place.
That's not true. I was always against it (see the actual Will VAR Improve The Game thread), but I was in a tiny minority, both on here and in real life. I was called a luddite, and as a Chelsea fan, I just wanted the status quo to continue where the big clubs got all the decisions going their way. VAR would level things up. (odd, as we're now European Champions and Man City won the league. You could almost come to believe having better footballers helps a bit)

Nearly everyone wanted VAR, in my opinion because they hadn't been fked to read what was going to happen. Hence posters even now saying "why was that given offside, as it wasn't clear and obvious."

The crap we are now saddled with was exactly what they said was going to happen, if anyone had bothered to look.

I think that's close to what we will see, but Bellingham in for Saka.

I would have thought we might see Sancho? A proper right winger to provide width and maybe might create some chances for Kane to score?

Had to laugh at Emile Heskey giving his opinion in Kane. With 9 goals in 60 odd games , I’d have kept quiet.
( mind you strip out the pens and the goals against minnows and they’re not that far apart).

I bloody hope we see Sancho instead of Sterling. Why do we need 2 DM against the Czech's? Here's hoping that Gareth actually does surprise us!

That's why he's now isolating, and they all got tests.
The question is though, if the squad have all been in their bubble for weeks, how did he get it...? scratchchin

I wondered if he'd bring in Henderson too. I mean, best to find out now if Hendo is fit enough or not, rather than in a knockout game.
And Sterling but no Foden. It wouldn't surprise me, since Southgate is in love with Sterling, but I just don't rate Sterling I'm afraid.
If I was the manager:
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Henderson Phillips
Saka Grealish Foden
Kane

Playing 2 DMs is why we never create anything. Sideways, sideways, backwards. fking Mourinhoball. Southgate sets every team out not to lose, rather than try and win.

And what does Sancho have to do to get a game?!

Is a GPS sensor accurate enough when we are talking about millimeters?
No
It doesn't matter, you work within the tolerances of the equipment you're using.
So, err, exactly the same as VAR then.
No, because VAR relies on someone drawing lines on a screen and interpreting those lines. GPS doesn’t rely on interpretation.

'Wayne Rooney put it perfectly' is not a sentence you expect to see that often but he's bang on there, the 'movement' at the top end of the England team basically consists of the forwards spreading in a near static pattern along the 18yd line like tailor's dummies. I feel really sorry for Foden, he's our best player, but he'll never get anything to happen in this outfit of blame-avoiders.

Are we honestly supposed to believe that not a single person in the Scotland camp spent that long with him.
