That's not true. I was always against it (see the actual Will VAR Improve The Game thread), but I was in a tiny minority, both on here and in real life. I was called a luddite, and as a Chelsea fan, I just wanted the status quo to continue where the big clubs got all the decisions going their way. VAR would level things up. (odd, as we're now European Champions and Man City won the league.
