I can only assume he's left Kane on there to play himself out because he's not going to figure in any of the knockout stages. Having a statue up front is worse than playing with 10 men.
Kane has been practically anonymous.
He didn’t even win any free kicks with his cheating backing in and bending over technique.

Listening to the commentary you'd think we'd actually played well. Load of ste! At least they'll be home soon and we can watch some decent football.

I think Southgate must have got his preparation for this tournament from watching Greece's 2004 run and win and thought he could mirror it.
They beat France & Portugal (twice) to win in '04. Some achivement that.
I was talking more tactically and football wise, if I remember correctly they weren't easy on the eye at all.

On the positive side we have by now identified all the stuff that doesn't work, so by elimination Southgate should be able to see what else there is and try that.

The mutterings to drop Kane will get louder.

On paper we look great, haven't conceded a goal, topped the group.

Reality is we're insipid.

Atleast the first half showed some promise.
Neville said it at the start. Defend well and hope a moment of magic at the other end and score a goal

Southgate is footballs Stevie Wonder (from the seeing perspective).

Well my conclusion is Gareth sts himself at an attacking line up and will always feel more at ease with an defensive line up. Its his player mentality.

Not sure I understand your analogy? Stevie Wonder is a genius at his art. A sublime songwriter, singer and multi-talented musician... Southgate is what... confused

How the fk can a squad containing Sancho, Saka, Grealish and Foden be this boring and st.
because Sancho, Saka, Grealish and Foden are out of their depth on the world stage
I'm not too sure about the first three but I totally disagree with you about Foden. He's a brilliant player in my opinion.
Seems more suited to a Borstal than a football team

Well at least they didn't put in a fantastic attacking performance to give us all hope of progressing further than this.

Bloody awful second half, just horrible to watch!
