We can beat Germany, I am absolutely certain. Southgate simply has to have the balls to drop his captain.

Pickford ------------------
Walker --- Stones --- Maguire --- Shaw

Saka --- Grealish --- Foden --- Sterling

Sancho

Bellingham

Also, we will never, ever have a better route to the final.

It’s never been a better time to play Germany. At Wembley, 45,000 fans inside, Germany out of form.

But Germany will still win. That’s just how it works.

Four defenders and six forwards.

Interesting.

Yep, no pissing about, though I regard Saka, Grealish and Foden as attacking midfielders.

He'd never play that team, far too attacking and adventurous.

+1

Best to expect the worst than to raise ones hopes.

We'll get hammered (or go out in a really dire bout of drudgery) anyway, might as well make it exciting.

England favourites against Germany?!

I've put some money down on the Germans. Seems like amazing value.

That's not a great team. Bellingham's not a striker, Sancho is a wide man, Sterling should be on the bench,

I thought it was a tongue in cheek team as a reaction to Southgates safety first tactics.

But it seems he meant it.

I’m going for a cheeky 1-0 win for us.
Early lead, backs to the wall throughout the second half.

Yeah I’m all for attacking football but that’s a bit much.

I’d play the same team as against the Czechs but drop Kane for Foden.

And Grealish and Foden could never play together in the middle. Both are creative attacking midfielders, playing them together would mean one would have to help shield the defence which would be a waste of their abilities. Akin to when we tried to play Gerrard and Lampard together for years. To get the most out of your forwards players you need a defence minded midfielder to be the 'water-carrier' and do the ugly stuff that nobody appreciates. France have Kante, Spain have Busquets, Italy have Jorginho.

I'll be unpopular and stick with Sterling and Kane. Sterling has the habit of being involved in most of our goals so stays in the team, and if we only get one clear chance against Germany I'd want it to drop to Kane.
