How old was he there? About 27?
The hair does Gary no favours but he's just unlucky to look old. Some of my peers look ancient, being completely bald or having white hair along with a bit of podge and a 37 year old can easily look 50.

I was just watching some highlights from Euro 96. One thing that struck me was how old the players look compared with now, even though they were all 20s/30s they look like old men. Is just because of the haircuts or are squads a little bit younger on average now? Or was it just the drinking culture causing premature ageing?
The guy you’ve put up a photo of is Gary McAllister. He was 32 in 1996. That might be why he looks older than a current player who is in his early to mid 20s. Edited by JmatthewB on Thursday 10th June 15:23

British bookies have England as near favourites. Big surprise there.
Oh dear. They never learn, do they. What have England done that makes anybody think they can win it? As I'm struggling to think of anything.....It doesn't bare reflection to our chances.
The odds on England are pathetic from a punters point of view, there's no point.

Turkey are hoping for a lucky break but effectively playing a 6-4-0 format. Italy are playing straight into it as well. They’re trying to walk the ball into the goal and playing very slowly so whenever Turkey do risk going forward they give them time to set up defensively. The long shots they’re taking from outside the box are piss poor.
Both teams squealing for penalties at every opportunity is pathetic.
Not a great advert for football so far.
