Winks gets a hard time. He’s decent enough he just needs a move it’s gone stale for him at Tottenham.

10.24 is very early to start drinking...Winks ruined Winks by running to the media every time he got dropped. He was the only Spurs player to mention Nono's tactics negatively in the press and I can't imagine anybody being ok with him giving his appraisals of team mates so openly. Especially when they are not entirely positive.

In that article he mentions Skipp having room for improvement and Romero could also improve with some consistency. My fave line on Romero was "I suppose it's down to him as he has the ability and has the capabilities of course," he revealed. "Everyone has that ability when you're playing at the top level to be that good." So humble.
That he stormed down the tunnel like peak Ronaldo when subbed says it all.

He's always been a very average player for me. OK but nowhere near good enough to be playing for any team in the top half of the table. The fact that he appears to have very little awareness of this says a lot too. He should have admitted a long time ago that he's not good enough to play in the first 11 at Spurs and moved on for his own good as well as the clubs.

In that article he rightly commented that social media isn't a great read for him, but also made a strange comment about "one week being the hero" ... I'm struggling to recall that week? The Fulham away game a few years back probably? https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/n...

The guy just needs to move on and find his level. As others have said, bottom half PL/top half Championship club
"I tend to stay away from social media after games because it's not something that really benefits me.
"I know a lot of fans like to take to social media to vent their frustrations so it's probably best not to look at it as I've been in the game long enough now to know how it works.
"One week you can be the hero, next week you can be the villain so it's just about balancing that and staying away from social media."

I didn’t see too much wrong in anything he said and you can be assured that any player interview goes through the Spurs press office fir vetting before it gets published https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/n...

I'm not sure if that last part is accurate tbh. How else do you explain the players or managers going off the reservation sometimes?Guvernator said:

Anything other than the stock standard "he's a triffic bloke" response about a team mate and especially a compliment sandwich is a little on the nose for me. Nobody would want a workmmate to speak about them that way in any profession.
I don't care if he is 100% honest or correct. It's just poor form. Something Tiddly has been in for about four years now.

Latest rumour I've read is some sort of package deal with Winks + money + writing off Dele, in exchange for Richarlison and Gordon.
Not entirely sure how I feel about that.
It's all bullst. None of these swap deals ever transpire. Too many interested parties wanting an angle and a cut. Anytime a rumoured deal involves a swap, it's journalists fantasy 99 times out of 100.Not entirely sure how I feel about that.
