If we'd kept attacking, we probably wouldn't have drawn that game. I feel the age old adage of offence being the best form of defence is true in our case. Keep the other team on the back foot and they can't get near your st defenders.
Blib, do you know where Ossie is ?Guvernator said:
I agree, while Kane would be hard to replace, he is not irreplaceable.
There is also an argument to say he might be part of the current problem too. He's been the big name at Spurs for nearly a decade and despite being few and far between, he has had opportunity to play in some big finals and has gone missing in pretty much every one. He's one of the best footballers I've seen at Spurs but perhaps he's been there too long and the malaise that seems to infect our club has got him too.
Perhaps it's time to wish him well, cash in and start with something new?
I’m in full agreement. I’ve thought for a few years that maybe we should let Kane leave and start afresh. We managed just fine those times he was out injured some years back. Levy’s wishes of building a team around Kane hasn’t exactly worked. There is also an argument to say he might be part of the current problem too. so many people clambering for Zerbi - the guys had a good 6 months with Brighton, if he has any type of brain cells he will stay well away from WHL and stick with what he has.
we got lucky a few years back with a guy called Pochettino - he might be a decent option for remainder of season, might change the atmosphere in stadium and just keep the 4th place. But nothings changed since he left, why would he sign a 2/3 year deal to come back to all the rubbish he supposedly didnt agree with before.
It wont happen, but would love to see a fresh face come in, someone from out of nowhere who will just bring a change of playing/players mentality ie not ground down by the baggage of years of management.
In reality I think all we will get is another sticking plaster - will be Mason for remainder of season and then will another big name manager who has lost his job over the summer. Tuchel is easy choice although struggle to see how he moves things on, Rafa Benitez will need another injection of cash soon so his name will start floating about, and all the good stuff that Brendan Rodgers did 10 years ago will probably get brought up in the media and get him in with a shout FFS

It doesn't matter who the new manager is, if the club is going to continue to hang on to deadwood and buy prospects that the manager doesn't want.
If you get a manager in you have to back his requirements and decisions 100%.
If I was able to ignore all of that and pretend that we were actually a football club.....I would go for Luis Enrique. Had success as both a player and manager. Will have immediate respect from players. Doesn't take any st. Played more direct attacking, less tiki-taka with Barca. I'm going to ignore Spain's performances as international football is largely irrelevant to club football (see Southgate). Young enough to still be ambitious and hasn't managed in the Prem yet, so won't be going through the motions. Big enough name to attract players (especially from broke Spanish clubs). If you get a manager in you have to back his requirements and decisions 100%.

I'm not sure I agree. Utd did that and look where that got them.If you get a manager in you have to back his requirements and decisions 100%.
IMO you need an owner to put a management structure in place that can support the manager with transfers, but the manager needs to be able to listen to options rather than just dictate a player shopping list.

I'd like Derren Brown (So he can convince these tts that they are actually footballers using NLP)
O/T.Brown once did a TV episode on gambling. Part of the show was filmed at Walthamstow dog track, where Brown did his shtick around a winning ticket, or something.
My late father was the owner of the winning dog of the chosen race and is seen briefly getting the winner's trophy/handshake/whatever.
(Note to self - go and watch the flipping programme)

In Arsenal's case they backed a manager who cut out the cancer of Aubamayang and have gone from strength to strength.
We still have the likes of Lo Celso and N'Dombele on the books. We've got players in our first 11 that Poch signed.
All the time we have an ownership that refuses to cut losses, and signs prospects regardless of the managers or director of footballs intentions we're going to have a problem.

Brendan would be a perfect Levy signing. He’ll do enough to lift performance for a few years with older signings, before he fks it up and loses the dressing room/signs bad players. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
