Anyone else think that Maddison is turning into something of a weak link?

Whatever happened to him?

Tbf ref is Michael Oliver who IMHO is one of the best refs in the league. Problem is Jarred Gillet is the VAR. He seems immune to awarding anything to Spurs whenever he's reffed us.
Not that it's so predictable, but it's so predictable.
Take a bow mr gillet.
It was offside confused
Yeh, not sure that VAR has had any bad decisions.

Spurs have played better football I think, but that's football sometimes. We desperately need half time even at 3-0 up!

My in-depth analysis is, you need the next goal.

He got injured. Not been the same player since. Lost a yard of pace.

We score first, then Arsenal rediscover their problems with gravity. We of course won't get any decisions our way from the ref.
You called the first bit bow

Dunno. I'm just a poor fare paying customer in the stadium.

Literally gifted them that game. Set pieces have been our weak point all season, we are now only behind the 3 relegation teams on number of set pieces conceded but it's OK as Ange says it's not an issue rolleyes

I thought our biggest issue this season would be our forward line but it's not, it's the comedy defending. I think we have decent personnel, they just aren't being coached properly.

Who do you think is quality, I think they’ve proven themselves to be crap tbh.

Bad luck gents , I though you were the better dude tbh , You really do struggle against set pieces , I'm no expert but you signed Ragu in January & he's about 6'5 & must be an asset defender corners etc , any thoughts on why Romero cannot play as a holding midfielder ? As you look so vulnerable at set pieces .

Great player when everything is going well, but when the chips are down he's one of the first to throw in the towel, only cares about himself and his brand.

5th looks likely, how would you rate that as a season?

Fecking delighted if we manage 5th tbh. Tinged with the nagging knowledge that this squad isn't strong enough to compete in Europe yet.
Pre season I was hoping for top 6.
New manager, new backroom staff, some deadwood removed, new tactics ran out of steam in November yet still somehow 5th. It's a decent first season and something to build on.

Sorry was listening on the radio. Wasn't the on field decision goal, no flag was raised for offside by car decided it was 'just' off?

In this case isn’t your issue with the rule rather than VAR? You’re either onside or offside, this is actually very straightforward for VAR, and works ‘well’ in the sense that it’s a technically correct decision each time, providing the protocol is followed with lines and all that.

My issue with it is that it’s a pretty brutal rule, I’d like to see things like advantage to the attacker taken into account, or maybe daylight needed between the person making the run and the last attacker.

Either way, that particular VAR decision, and the one that awarded you the penalty, were 100% correct in accordance with the rules, weren’t they?

Hard to say how representative the first third of the season was. Suspensions, injuries and AFCON put paid to any further challenge. Looking forward to seeing Bergvall next season.
