Why are we pissing about with the ball at the back when they’re all over us? There must be acres of space up the pitch.

I was just posting to say these subs have been needed for the past 15 minutes.

Timing is about right I think. Very fresh legs and Soton getting more nervous about holding out for a draw or going for the win.

I disagree. Sancho and Antony had the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half to justify staying on but really offered very little value going forward or defensively today. They should have been subbed on the hour.

Good challenge??? He scissored Garnacho which VAR should report as a red and a pen.
Eta: scrap that, reality says that’s only the case today if it was the other way round.

Dangerous play today only works one way. Clear as day.

To be fair they had 12 men to our 10. 13 if you count Marriner in the VAR booth (remember him? The one who sent off Casemiro for the 'Strangle'). Not the worst point considering how the game panned out, but shocking considering what we wanted. EPL really has to sort out the officiating. Elite level league, amateur level officials. I suppose it makes good drama, so why fix it.

Two thirds of the game with ten men-
I couldn’t watch it but from what I’ve read on here it sounds like the officials have robbed us…..

Well, pick the ''skeletal elastic collagen fibrous, matrix hardened by inorganic mineral salt, calcium phosphate'', out of that.

We just never matched their intense game. Agreed very poor decisions but still we were terrible.

I think thats a bit unfair. We played on Thursday, they had a week off and we had 10 men for an hour. I'm not sure what we can really be expecting in terms of matching them for energy. The sad part is that we could still have won, but the penalty call was piss poor too.

Without Casemiro, Eriksen we just don't have the players to control the game effectively. Too many erratic passes from Bruno, DDG can't make a good distribution most of the time either - great stopper though. It just doesn't suit playing with 10 men.

Not sure if it's 4 or 2 games now without Casemiro, but it's a big miss again. Frustrating that the same official has cost us up to 7 games of his EPL appearences with harsh calls.
