The Official Manchester United Thread (Vol 11)
Discussion
United have had a great season considering how last year ended and this year began. Let’s hope we can add the cherry on top by winning the FA Cup.
To end up on two trophies and no treble for city would be amazing!
I have been fortunate to have been to the semi final against Forest in the league cup and Brighton in the FA cup. Here’s to hoping the fa cup final goes as well 😀

We don’t all agree all the time but we’ve improved significantly and there’s hopefully plenty more to come.
Cheers to this mate I enjoy hearing the contrasting views from others, knowing we all want the best for our club even if we have slightly different ideas about what route to take.

2 questions only from me:
1. Where is that poster who a few weeks back said Man United have not improved as they were on the same points as the same stage last season?
2. Any revised view now the final numbers are in
There were quite a few of them coming out with that stat, also there was the other one about ETH having a worse win percentage than Ole. That one has been well and truly put to bed too. A classic example of taking the best run Ole had and overlaying it with the challenging start that ETH had. 1. I think we’re all ecstatic about how the season panned out overall. The start was a bit worrying after two games, but then we had that run and some of us (I’ll include myself) got a bit too carried away, thinking we really could do a cup treble. We had a blip towards the end of the season, but came good when it really mattered. Very pleased with things overall, think I gave us a 9/10.
To finish within 9 points of a sublime Arsenal is pretty good. Considering the lack of casemiro iin key games such as playing arsenal really cost us. Not sure when his first game was for us but we had already played a number.. was it the game after the away game to city ?? Then the suspensions and missing games away to arsenal where they beat us in last minutes etc
Low point was the 45mins against Liverpool. Only Brighton managing a double over us. Home record has been phenomenal! Was it only loosing at home once in the league on the first day of the season?
3key signings such as Kane would be epic!! But can’t see it

The away leg against Seville was also a low .
Huge improvement though overall especially considering we basically played the entire season without a proper centre forward, and we lost out central defensive pairing and central
Midfield pair for chunks of the season .
Also had Ronaldo and Maguire issues .to deal with .
Hope the ownership issue gets resolved quickly and whilst I don’t fancy being state owned unfortunately I don’t see any other option if we want to be competitive going forward .
The super league will inevitably come as the gap widens between the billionaire's playthings and the rest .

Glad to see Maguire on the pitch yesterday, means there is a good chance he'll be on the bench next weekend!
I saw that as an opportunity for him to say goodbye. My god I can’t wait for Saturday. I’m not confident but the post game stuff from Erik yesterday was from a man that has confidence in his ability to manage Manchester United. Not just manage.
Best first season win percentage in recent history, get some stats out Simon.

Seeing more & more reports linking us with shouty Pickford. Not sure what the other options are other than DDG, but no thanks to that one!

I saw a report that DeGea had agreed a new deal, but had yet to be signed off by the senior management Glad to see Maguire on the pitch yesterday, means there is a good chance he'll be on the bench next weekend!
Rumours Fred might be off as well. Fulham and a few others are interested

It did seem to be weird season for stats. Just guessing we had worst difference between home and away form, best league finish with no centre forward, most cock-ups by a goalkeeper that won the Golden Glove, highest league position by team scoring fewer than 60 goals etc etc I hope there's not much wrong with the team other than the lack of centre forward. Well done to Rashford getting the goals. All I need to do now is relax about City possibly winning the treble. It'll happen one day anyway.
