Van der Sar has resigned from Ajax. Wonder if the ownership fiasco here is coming to an end and there’s a role being designed for him? Probably adding 2+2 and coming up with 3894058480320 though.
Not so sure - he was hounded out by the fans, following a failure to qualify for the CL.guitarcarfanatic said:

Like I said probably 2+2=3.142Poor form hounding out a CEO after failing to achieve CL for one season. Manager, possibly, but even so it’s a big rebuild there after we raided them.

Martial out for the FA Cup with injury. You couldn't make this stuff up!
Sure as night follows day, Martial is injured again....The fact he's lost all his pace (due to the injuries) means it's less of a miss not having him, compared to in his earlier Utd career when he was rapid and so good on the break vs teams like City.
Don't get me wrong he's still a way better option than Wout. But he looks heavy, has lost his agility and has no explosiveness any more. In recent games his touch has deserted him, with the ball bouncing off him time and again. That being said he still gets a lot of goals for us per minute.
No doubt we'd find it impossible to sell him given his £250k a week wages, but with one year on his contract left I'd be tempted to rip it up and get rid or at the very least heavily subsidise a loan for him next season. There's just no point relying on him as any sort of option when building a squad as he can't stay fit.
I feel for him a bit, though oddly whilst Jones injury travails do elicit sympathy in some corners Martial seems to attract anger/derision from the majority of opinions I see.

Jones quite visably when playing puts in maximum effort, Martial does not, ever. Suspect this is the reasonRichyvrlimited said:

Martial is done here and this was his last chance. Nobody is paying a fee or taking him on these wages he will do Phil Jones here and ride out a free transfer. Please Manchester United get a trusted number 9!
He’ll be used as a makeweight in a deal this summer hopefully. I can’t see him staying or wanting to, fabulous when he arrived but too many injuries and his demeanour gives fans a poor impression of his attitude. He’s only 27so I’m sure they’ll be plenty of takers. jgrewal said:

When I posted my jokey comment about him yesterday, I stopped short of voicing my thinking that he would probably be miraculously injured before the transfer window opens, thereby giving him at least another 7 months on his cushy number.
Nevertheless, I hereby declare myself a savant!

I hope Martial does go, one player who I have really not been a fan of for years. Never looks interested or if he even likes playing football. Recently his hold up play has been so poor. I went to the Wolves game recently where he scored but was still the worst player on the pitch
We will be a different team with a proper striker I cannot wait

Problem with Martial is, why would he drop his wages significantly to move to another club when he can limp through next season and leave on a free? I honestly can't see him going tbh and if we're only getting one striker this summer then he will be back up.
Another year on the sidelines won’t make him hot property for any future club though. Permanently injured, miserable sod, little interest in team and not enough goals to assess whether he’s still up to it mean he won’t be able to command top dollar when he does move. If he had half a brain (or his agent did), then they’d be pushing him to have the best season he can, then go on a free. I think he’ll be used as a makeweight in another transfer though, as has been said. At least that’s what I’m hoping, as we need to reduce the squad and payroll to continue the rebuild.
