Shame that.

Happy to not get embarrassed to be fair.

Garnacho was electric when he came on, completely showed up how abject Rashford and Sancho were.

We did well to stay in the game against a clearly better side but sadly would have to say we are a bit of a non entity attacking wise.

Rashford seems to have been off form since the end of his purple patch (2 goals in 9), sancho did his usual disappearing act and we had nothing else.

I think this was another game that confirms upgrading Eriksen is absolutely vital to any future success. The same goes for De Gea.

Final point is I’ve said time and again we are desperately lacking when Bruno goes right wing. Have we ever won a game he started RW? He offers nothing from that position and we miss his drive, pressing and creativity from the middle.

Overall feel we did what we can I spose and not desperately annoyed like after some losses. Hopefully confirms the departure of DDG, Sancho and some others and we can build for next season.

We gave it a better go than I was expecting, especially after what happened within a nano-second of the match starting. We’re definitely moving in the right direction, but a long, long way off having a squad capable of rivalling City, or fighting for the title. Was hoping for a miracle today, but realistically even a miracle was unlikely.

Nice to see an Arsenal and Liverpool fan on here enjoying City’s victory though rofl

Should add, fair play to the footballing side of City on the pitch today. They have been better - we all knew that coming in of course - but they have been. It's not in anyway excusing the off the field issues, but they have built a very strong team / squad. Hopefully Inter do them in the CL, of course.
I agree with these two points wholeheartedly. The football side of things is very strong so they deserved to win today.
I’m now a Milan fan too next week. wink

On the negative side of things our keeper and our woeful inability to play out from the back is alarming. Only Shaw has anything near the quality and composure of any of the city back line..

Let’s try and be be positive though ..we didn’t get hammered and gave it a go at the end. Garnacho needs to be playing a lot more next season..3 or 4 players in key positions needed. Onwards and upwards …

Just pray Inter do an ‘Italian job’ next weekend yes

We're lucky City came and played in 2nd gear. That was the easiest final they will have to play we didn't even worry them beyond a lucky penalty! Treble is theres now unless Lukaku can save us lol

If our luck doesn’t change, yeah. I’m done with listening to the excuses. He constantly plays us into trouble (didn’t even have Maguire around to be wrongly blamed this time), and ain’t such a fabulous keeper in any other way either.

Historically (less so recently) we've been able to play it off with his other qualities, because in the way we were playing back then (reactive) they were important. Times change & those qualities seem to be diminishing and the importance of distribution is growing. Love him for what he's done with us in the past, but it's probably time to bring someone in to match the style needed these days. Today was as clear evidence as needed, if it even is anymore.

Definitely not good enough:

Maguire
DVB
Lindelof
Martial
Weghorst
Fred

Not sure:

Erikkson
Sancho
Dalot
Sabitzer
McTominnay
DDG

Need a lot of restructuring

Lindelof should be in the Not Sure list, he’s only just getting a chance now he’s not paired with Maguire

Sancho, McTominay and probably DeGea should be in the definitely not good enough section.

Eriksen, Dalot and Sabitzer are good enough for half the time and not good enough the rest of it. Not sure what that list is.

Short of becoming State sponsored and flouting all the financial rules, I can’t see how we can afford to restructure the whole squad in the next 3 seasons.

I'm not entirely sure lumping the ball into the penalty area for the last 4 or 5 minutes technically qualifies as a "phase" of a match, but you cling on to them straws if it what's you need to do to get by.

You've nothing to be ashamed of overall, you really tried, even if if City didn't get out of 2nd gear for the whole match.

It is nice when teams get to enjoy their little moments in the limelight even if ultimately they are are just there to make up the numbers.

A phase is a period of time displaying a particular style/behaviour.

So yes, lumping it could be a phase of a game.

Think before you type.

Don’t have to worry about Sabitzer, he’s gone back to Bayern as United won’t be taking up the option to sign him permanently.
Was glad we didn’t get humiliated today, but didn’t feel that Ardwick were particularly good. On today’s evidence, there doesn’t appear to be as big a difference between them and us as I was worried about. I feel that there is plenty of room to be optimistic for the future, provided the ownership issue is resolved quickly enough to allow ETH the chance for a successful transfer window.
Come on Inter!

Doesn't dull the pain, but we looked just as likely as they to score:
