Sky is pretty much unwatchable now whenever Liverpool are plying. They always have Carragher on commentary and he’s as biased as is possible. It’s like the old FanZone from a decade ago.

To balance it out they may as well put the laughing idiot Richards on the microphone for all City games.

Adam.

He is. He almost starts crying every time Liverpool score and when they win it’s like emotion overload. Apparently Matip’s goal was fantastic, one of the best you’ll see. Really? Even the most blindly loyal Liverpool fan should admit it was very lucky. It was crucial to the league challenge but hardly a goal of the season contender

Why is he even on Sky? Anyone else would not have returned to the screen after spitting on a father and his daughter whilst leaving a game.

He really is irritating.

I’m not going to get into a row about it Pommy but that’s simply not true is it? Pretty much every Pundit? Nope it’s just Carragher that’s spat on a child. It is vile behaviour. Can’t remember another pundit being suspended for spitting. Please let’s not try and justify it.

Agreed on both your points. Sky really are scraping the barrel now. They appointed GNev so the scousers we’re unhappy and they then appointed Carragher ignoring the amount of ex-Liverpool players they already had in their punditry team. Now they’ve got Richard’s everywhere and he’s just a laughing idiot who really doesn’t add any value either.

However as you rightly say nobody should survive the spitting incident. GNev talks sense and is fairly unbiased most of the time (note not all, at least he commentated on non-United games), but his political ramblings and encouraging of the storming of the pitch last season should have seen him in real hot water too and possibly off the airwaves.

I think you lot forget how biased the media was in favour of Utd at your peak.

The most successful teams become the media darlings of the time.

It's cyclical and not worth fretting about.

I quite like Carragher on Sky but tbh it's only in the last couple of months I've noticed his bias getting to annoying levels. Before I didn't think he was unreasonably biased. Him and Neville are usually good together.

Richards just laughs and doesn't actually add anything when he speaks, that's wearing thin as well.

I think carragher is more bearable than Neville tbh.
Neville has become incredibly tedious .

Worth beating in mind their job is to hype up /be controversial .
When Scholes first appeared as a pundit he was pulled aside and told he had to be more controversial in his analysis .

Chewing his daughters toe nail isn't what they had in mind probably

He just gets better and better. I genuinely can’t remember when I was this excited about the future before.
If you go back a while your current coach was the best thing since the history of football biggrin Talk is cheap, as of now he’s proved nothing.

Not for me he wasn’t. He was an interim and all I wanted to see was him as an interim. His ideas though are good and what he’s done is uncover and expose the real truth in the dressing room. He’s saved Ten Hag six months of grief, as he knows exactly what he’s walking into. My views on that haven’t changed since he joined, although I was hoping for better results, the discovery of the problems and calling it out has helped more than papering over the cracks.

I have only just got Sky sports back (F1 coverage) so missed alot of the commentary but I hate Neville and Carragher co-commentating. I know United has been a mess but give it a rest Gary, its all you bleat on about it. Plus he needs to stop reverting back to 'When Alex Ferguson' as its boring.

Carragher is getting worse as the season has gone on, and now Liverpool could be winning the quadruple. Thank god BT sport have the champions league final and not Sky. I just hope City win the league and Real win the CL.

Scholes only appears really on BT sport but he is dull as dishwater and only seems able to slag off the team.

It’s just perspective laugh

Carragher is no more over the top in his praise for Liverpool than Neville (or Keane/Scholes) is over the top in his criticism of United.

The difference is only that United fans don’t enjoy hearing about Liverpool doing well and Liverpool fans love hearing about United being st.

If the boot was on the other foot…

That bears absolutely no resemblance to anything that’s being discussed at all. I’d like decent pundits who can analyse a game objectively and give an opinion on the football, rather than a group of cheerleaders no matter who they’re supporting.

Other than not mentioning spitting, or eating your children's toe nails, it's absolutely relevant to the discussion.

United fans don't like Carra because he's ex LFC and scouse... if United were winning everything and Neville was behaving the same way, LFC fans would say the same thing... but we currently love Neville (& Keane) for obvious reasons.

All the various footy shows use ex players, and typically have specific pundits for games because they are ex players for the teams in question.
