Not unexpected, but still RIP.

Fond memories of his time at Hibs...

I was very sad to read recently that he had a terminal diagnosis. As a Celtic fan I can say he was a magnificent goal keeper, often especially so against us. 58 is ridiculously young. RIP

Despite it being expected I'm still a bit shocked. 58 seems no age at all. A fantastic keeper who pulled of some incredible saves. RIP.

One of the best ever gk to wear the jersey, knew it was coming but always quite sad when it happens.

I played against him in a legends game and got through one in one and thought this is my chance to score at ibrox, he sprang like it was a winning save in a champions league final and absolutely crushed my dream of scoring at ibrox laugh

Was great company after the game and happy to get photo’s and tell stories for ages.

Sad day. Great keeper. In that early 90s Rangers team - which IMO was probably their best team ever - he was still one of the standout players.

How bad is Scottish football when Sligo Rovers have just dumped Motherwell out of Europe in convincing fashion. Following last weeks 1-0 away win Sligo had a comfortable 2-0 win at home tonight.

It's a humiliating result.

Motherwell are a very poor side. They started last season well and then went on a terrible run that was fit for relegation. I think they are strong favourites to go down this season.

These early European qualifiers aren't what they look like on paper. When one team hasn't played any competitive football and the other team are match sharp it instantly closes the quality gap.

Rangers and Celtic are decent teams. The rest of the SPL is between league one and non league.

Been coming, they had a woeful second half of last season. Sligo was a final stray clearly.

Motherwell had been on a terrible run and Alexander only kept his job because the other teams around them were so poor last season. There were incredibly lucky to make the top six with an injury time equaliser and got more good fortune to get a euro spot. Fans had been wanting him sacked for a while, they just didn't have an excuse, more because of other results making them seem better than they actually were.

Having just signed a contract extension in January it may be costly for them to replace him. They now face St Mirren and St Johnstone in their first two games probably without a manager. A far from ideal start to their season.

Good to have the season started again.

Thought rangers were a bit tepid in the first half but second half they were excellent, the subs really changed the game.

Souttar has came in for a bit of stick and did have a stinker however his brother died last weekend so maybe should have been pulled from the squad if he wasn’t in the right frame of mind.

The other signings I felt done well especially Tillman, he looks a player.
The two goals were crackers too.

Refereeing performance was comical but that’s to be expected but in the end didn’t effect the result

First day of the season.

Watched Livingston v Rangers earlier. Rangers had all the ball in the first half, but were slow and creating nothing. Rangers looked very shaky at the back and Livingston should have been 2-0 up in the first half. Nouble bullied Souttar about today. A debut couldn't have gone much worse.

Second half Rangers upped the pace. Tilliman looked a good player. Rangers had a few really good chances, but so did Livingston. They also had a perfectly good goal disallowed.

The Rangers offside goal was more than likely offside. It looks slightly offside even with a favourable camera angle.

Although Rangers had all the play they were fortunate to come away with 3 points. Livingston had the chances at 1-0 to kill the game.

I hadn't heard about Souttar's brother, really bizarre to have played him given the circumstances. Bizarre refereeing from Robertson to arrange Cancar's substitution rather than send him off, clearly he's still in friendly mode.

I can't see how Colak's goal is judged to be offside. Worse still, var was present and could have corrected the linesman. Surely the correct decision is the most important thing. In the end, glad to have the three points from a difficult away tie on an atrocious surface. A game we would have dropped points in last season but the new additions already making the difference. Good to see Kent get his first assist too!

Late goals in other spl games may indicate it will be tight between teams this season. Dundee also off to a bad start in the championship after relegation.

His second tackle wasn't that bad. It's getting blown way out of proportion. Martindale took him off as the next tackle he was off.

Cloak looks ahead of the defenders from a favourable camera angle. I'm confident that looking along the line it would be noticeable.

Rangers had huge decisions go their way too like the disallowed goal. The game was over if that counted.

It's going to be a long and difficult season when Rangers fans are wrongly rounding on the officials after one game.

Haven’t read this thread for a couple of years but just popped my head in.

Think you need to get a life mate.

You obviously have a hatred of Rangers and although you claim to have watched the game I don’t think football is your sport.

The therangers machine has gone into overdrive 1st game of the season even though they won.
God knows what will happen when they lose.
