just had an email from the sfa/ scotland supporters club all men internationals will only be on premier sports- starting with next months nations league games, up until 2024 when they move the other/ new norwegian channel.

I know it’s all about money, but surely this can’t be good for turning the casual scotland supporter away from watching games
It's a really bad situation that shouldn't be allowed to happen. I've no understanding of how a new TV channel has the funds to outbid Sky, BT or STV.

There should be some consideration who the rights are sold to.

Correct - fragmentation of Scottish games (club and country) across 5 platforms - 4 additional to the TV license, is a disgrace. It wouldn’t be put up with in England - their games will be free to air on Channel4.

agree, I think the best balance we had previously was when home/ away games were split between sky sports and bbc. I get the commercial aspect, so wouldn’t complain if the home or away game package was sold off to a subscription service (any of them!) but I definitely think some scotland games need to be ‘free to air’. growing up, the only football my family ever cared about/ watched was scotland games, if they weren’t on bbc/ stv then i don’t know how much interest i’d have these days

I'm not sure how ICT got a draw out of that, but the equaliser was some freekick.

Apparently the national game rights are sorted out and awarded to broadcasters by UEFA. We have not come out of it well though.

yeah it looks like this is the deal uefa have agreed on our behalf! feel like scotland got the worst deal, with england getting their games on channel 4 of all place

It's a terrible deal for fans and will result in less exposure which is a real shame when you want to keep kids interested in the game. On the other hand, if we insist on games being in terrestrial TV then we would end up will low offers from stations that know we have no alternative. I'd hope that the final decision takes into account viewing figures, the effect on sponsorship and growing the game.

My little boy is 8 and he and his school and football team pals get a huge buzz when Scotland play. It’s the one thing that unifies them as they support various different clubs. It’s a shame that most of them don’t ever actually get to watch Scotland play live at all.

I remember this well from my youth. It's tragic theses sorry of memories will be lost to the highest bidder. I'd be interested to know the difference between the offers.

I can't see Hearts getting a result today. They've looked flat for weeks.

I'll go 3-1 Rangers. A goal for Kent and a penalty.

Steven Thompson should not be presenting Sportscene. He shouldn't be near the cup final. It's so flat, clumsy and basic football chat. McCann is the only good one in there.

A nervous stuffy game. Not much quality.

Not the best game to watch. Rangers deserved that win.

Hearts were equal for 80 minutes, but they ran out of energy. Rangers are really fit and won it for that.

The game today simply reinforced the gap between the top 2 and the rest.

Despite the midweek game rangers were fitter and stronger. I lost count the number of times hearts easily conceded possession back to rangers when trying to play forwards. Hearts didn't even manage and attempt on goal did they?

Simms missed a sitter early in the game. For 80 minutes the teams were equal.

Hearts had 3rd place secured ages ago and downed tools. They've been poor for ages and ran out of steam again today.

At least the week ended well! Rangers started like a team that played 120 minutes in 30 degrees a few nights ago but grew into it. It was difficult to break through Heart's narrow banks but we should have done better with some of the chances even if we didn't play with a striker. Jack's strike was tremendous and worthy of winning the cup. It forced Hearts to stretch their banks and then it became easy for Rangers. Nice assist from Kent for the second. Rangers by far the better side and deserved winners. I thought Souttar was outstanding for Hearts and he could be a great signing if he can stay fit.

I don't think I've ever seen so many people looking for tickets outside the ground. I wasn't expecting that given the costs involved for our support over the last week. Collum had a terrible game. Inconsistent and got too many decisions wrong.

I thought St Johnstone were going to throw it away. They were second best in the first half and looked tense.

I think it is better for the league for St Johnstone to stay up. They are better than ICT, but they need to improve over this season.

Back to the football tonight. Whilst everyone has great sympathy for what it going on in Ukraine it's a professional game of football.

I hope the players manage to perform and not become overloaded with emotion and pressure. Our players shouldn't be made to feel guilty.

Hope we beat them by loads. However they'll have the edge with there players feeling they must win for the country etc. Hopefully the pressure effects them and we can manage a good convincing non nervy win for once.

At the risk of making myself enormously unpopular (like I said, I'm an Honest Man), I won't be too upset if we lose tonight for 3 reasons.

1 - Well, yeah, Ukraine, they are in dire need of something good happening, and I know the country personally having spent time there as a student. Will be enormously pleased for friends over there if the get through.
2 - Can't stand the thought of playing Wales in a play off, they're bound to win and my 2 best mates are Welsh and I have enough of them gloating about the rugby almost every fecking year.
3 - The finals are in Qatar, there's no way I'll be travelling there for multifarious reaosns including expense, inevitable lack of atmosphere, local laws and the frankly disgusting way they've built these white elephant stadiums with the blood of near slave labour, so they can feck off if they think they're getting a penny out of me.

Of course will be delighted if we win, because that goes with the territory, but won't be tooooooo downcast if we don't. It looks like we're getting our act together and hopefully we'll be at the next couple of Euros and World Cups in far better places.
