We all know Spain will now power through everyone, beat us in Spain, and we'll capitulate against Norway and draw with Georgia/Cyprus. Then end up in the Play Offs, losing to some wobbling giant such as Germany or Italy.

Well, that would be the usual script.

Maybe this time will be different.

Maybe.

Ah, the jaded voice of a veteran supporter! hehe

Cyprus might have finished 3-0 but there was enough evidence in that overall performance to suggest this may be the case.

Having said that..... Wow! That was good! Getting jaded with the majority of fixtures being school nights the performance was a shot in the arm for my moral. The M8 works didn't even wind me up too much.

Amazing result unfortunately missed it but sounded as though Scotland gave as good as they got, speaking to my dad about it and while he said they all played excellent, he said porteous was his motm. His move down to Watford away from hangers on and the temptation to be an idiot looks to be working wonders for him and the Scotland teams benefit.

Having a little chuckle at Rodri’s comments and the centre backs too “ the grass was too long” laugh aye no bother pal

Motherwell manager satisfied after an explanation of the rules following last weeks game. I doubt it’s going to satisfy our resident tin foil hat wearers but it’s an explanation of the rules.

Well done Stuart kettlewell actually coming out and saying that after an explanation it was the correct decision, took some unfair pressure off the referee’s.

David tanners comments this week were absolutely bang on aswell!

The biggest issue that still hasn't been addressed is the VAR lines are in the wrong place. It isn't the fact the lines touch, it's the fact both lines are drawn in the wrong place to get the lines to touch. They use the hand of the Motherwell player and the Rangers' player foot is ahead of his line. Position the lines correctly and he is offside. You don't need the lines to see he is offside.

Until now Scottish football has been studying offsides to the finest margins. The same thing happened down in England earlier this season. Rashford's goal was allowed to stand against Liverpool when he was offside like Sakala's. It baffled everyone as this rule was unknown and had never been applied before. Since that there has been other goals disallowed that were less offside than Rashford's.

Maybe rather than explaining to Kettlewell in private the explanation can be made public as the lines touching is only a small part of it.

Fairly happy and pointing out he expects the same decisions for his team moving forward doesn't exactly read well.

Isnt his shoulder in line with his hand? Sakala’s foot is also behind the line?

Not a great quality image but it’s the one the article used.

Tight call but the referees have done very well here in application of the rules.

What happens in other leagues is irrelevant

Good performance from rangers today but my god, Dundee United have really fked themselves appointing Jim Goodwin. Your teams 2 down and your keeper is taking a full minutes time wasting for a goal kick. They would have been so much better off going for someone like Owen coyle than that absolute diddy.

Wee bit disappointed ridvan didn’t get on considering borna took a head knock, more competitive minutes will do him good.

just another phenomenal tillman display, the boy is really special and 2 or 3 moves ahead of anyone on the pitch. Glad to see Beale says they are activating his buy clause. A full pre-season and higher quality players around him in the summer and he will absolutely flourish.

No comments on his diving again? That's something that needs addressed.

Tillman looks a good prospect, but "phenomenal" performances have to happen in big games and not against relegation favourites at Ibrox.

Beale has changed his tune this week. When does season ticket sales start? biglaugh

A few weeks ago he was saying Rangers could live without Morelos, Kent and Tillman. He's made comments about little money to spend. He sounded like he was softening the blow. What has changed apart from season ticket renewals coming up?

Tillman has always avoided the questions when asked if he wants to stay in after match interviews. It doesn't sound like he wants to stay.

With Rangers on the FFP watchlist it would surprise me if they have £5m to spend on one player when they have so many players to replace and improve on. As Sands said openly Rangers never had the money to sign him.

I suspect more stale Rangers players will be offered new contracts and Kent will find himself in the same situation as Goldson.

I thought that was as good a performance as you could expect against the tactics Rangers faced today. They've clearly been working on some things during the break and we looked better for it although decision making was poor at time. Tillman was a joy to watch. United were terrible and with good results for Motherwell and Kilmarnock, look like they are in serious trouble.

It was one of the worst performances by Celtic today. So many players underperforming at the same time. Even still 29 efforts, crossbar, post, sitters, last ditch blocks and saves should have seen more goals. Play was far too slack, too slow and wasteful.

Good to see Ross County actually making a game of it in the second half. They played well. Although they were too guilty of pulling Furuhashi down off the ball. The off the ball bodycheck overstepped the mark.

The added on time was a strange one. There has been games with extreme time wasting, injuries, lengthy VAR checks and not enough time has been added. Today there wasn't a lot and everyone was confused where 8 minutes was found.

How much of a clown is Boyd? He was raging with the penalty and couldn't hide it. He admits it was the right decision and it was a penalty, but was demanding consistency and calling the decision farcical on the basis of a widely criticised error with Considine's handball last week. How can you criticise and moan about a decision you admit is correct?

He wasn't demanding consistency when Rangers got away with multiple handballs. He was telling us the handball rule had clearly been changed. He could see the different rules/consistency being applied to Rangers and praised the decisions.

Andy Walker was little better today. It's time Sky got rid of a few of their pundits.

The consistency Boyd pretends to want would only mean his favourite team being well into double figures behind in the league and Celtic already being crowned Champions before the split. Lovely to see him hurting.

God knows how he will hold back the tears if Celtic win next Saturday.

I'm suprised VAR actually gave us a penalty for a clear handball. That's consistency starting to come in. About time. Ofcourse it could be the fact leagues won, time to even out the stats so it doesn't look bad if some Eagle eye twitter user spots the pattern at play. That's just a conspiracy though if the stats can't back it up wink

Radio silence? There is only so long that we can keep going over the same point and repeating ourselves.

No comment about the diving then? It's something that you often try to highlight.

It’s clear your trying for some sort of 3 page argument as usual but your going to have to try elsewhere this week

You wouldn’t think there were any games on this weekend. Here’s hoping to see Celtic march onwards and for Aberdeen to move up a place!
